I have no idea how old the kid is and neither will a college coach. I just know he’s good and I’d say the best freshman in NKY.

 

Meyer is a great player, who cares how old he is, dude had a stache last year, he can play and gets the opportunity that many freshman doesn’t get, he runs there offense and shoots a ton, but very skilled. One definitely to watch.

Is this kid any relation to the one that attended Dixie a few years ago?

Just curious, is Sr. Caeden Castleman for Holy Cross injured or something? He's not been in the lineup now since their game on Jan 10th against Simon Kenton. I thought that he was a deceptively decent player with decent speed, and decent around the rim instincts. He never seemed to get much notice, yet whenever he got into the game he'd typically give them a spark. He was a dependable bench player who didn't cause any team talent drop off when he entered the game.

I agree with Call it Like it is most of the top talent in NKY and throughout the state have reclassed at some point and there is nothing saying this cant be done. Since we are talking 2023 class and Meyer specifically, yes he is older but when looking at some of the top talent in the 2023 class, Reed Sheppard, Ryan Davidson, Ayden Hamilton, Colin Porter, Jack Edelen among others all have reclassed. I would assume that this is pretty common with all classes and not just the 2023. Congrats to Jake and the other Freshmen who are making immediate impacts for their teams!

At the end of the day if it helps the kid to get a free education I’m all for it.

Jake never attended Scott High School - you added a school since your previous post on the subject.

Didn’t he play for Scott last year? That to me is attending Scott. I’m not saying it’s bad thing to change schools. Go play where you fit in and can contribute.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to bash this kid. Moving from Elementary school to middle is a natural transition. If you want to talk about where he played, I believe he never played for Woodland MS and just went there and played for Scott. His family and him apparently felt Holy Cross was a better fit after a year of playing at Scott. Let him be.
