PurplePride92 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Danville High School’s Darrian Bell committed to the University of Louisville where he will join the Porter’s Scholars Program and the Cardinals football team. Darrian has been an impactful player for the Admirals football team but his talent goes far beyond the football team. He is also a member of the basketball team, has been a member of the bass fishing team and has always been an outstanding student. He’s also been involved in the community throughout most of his life as a youth in Danville. Darrian is on a path to success not only on the gridiron but in life as well. I haven’t seen many kids work harder than he has and I haven’t seen many kids attack every thing they are involved in with the passion that Darrian has. Congratulations to Darrian and his family! I know they are very proud of him and I look forward to following his life.

Woodford Porter was a big deal at UofL. I remember when he died 15 or so years ago. First African-American to get elected to the Board of Education. Trustee at UofL, even served as president for a while. Sat on the board at the old Bank of Louisville before it merged with BB&T. That scholarship program in his name is something UofL is hugely proud of and rightly so. Welcome to the UofL family, Darrian.

Darrian is the type of kid that I expect to make a huge difference in our world one day.
BEChargers Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Was as good of a LB as this area has seen the last two seasons. All over the field and relentless. Don't know him personally but have not heard a single person have a bad word to say about him. Very happy for this young man.
ATLCat Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 UL just got a bunch of KY kids... were these all PWO's or are some of these scholarship offers? I know one thing, Darrian Bell is a great LB'er. Been one of my favorite players to follow in 2A the past few years, just did not have vintage Danville talent around him.
