CovCath has confirmed it's first game is the September 11th game at Dixie.

Cov Cath and Simon Kenton will play for the first time since 2004.

Not including freshman moved up at the end of the season for playoffs, Cov Cath had 67 players on the roster. The KHSAA is only permitting 60 players in uniform for each game this season.

That is a bummer for the seven players putting in work and not dressing. How will they handle that? My guess is the seven sitting out will be sophomores and they will rotate who sits.

That seems like the most logical to me, yeah. I would think there are numerous 5A and 6A programs around the state looking at the same issue.

The only other thing I could mayyyyyyybe see happening is Cov Cath going to a true froshmore team - although I'm pretty sure that's not what's going to happen. I have a nephew who is an incoming freshman on the football team, and to the best of my knowledge Cov Cath is sticking with traditional freshman, JV and varsity.

I thought CovCath had over 40 kids on this year's freshman team. Those numbers don't seem to work for a froshmore team?

Not a clue about their numbers at this point...I just know my nephew is on the freshman team ?

I think Elder (OH) is doing that.  

And that is great news!

I'm not sure why DeSales and Lex Cath cancelled on Sep 11, but I'm assuming that was an unfortunate result of Lex Cath having to suspend in-person classes because of COVID.

Just pondering some possibilities here, but if Cov Cath could approach DeSales and CAL about moving their Oct 9 game to the Sep 11 slot, that would enable either team to add a game against Cov Cath. Just kind of "thinking out loud" and shuffling some puzzle pieces around.
