This was difficult to watch.

Mayer will have 20 to 30 TD's by end of the year. Besides Lexington Catholic next week in which he should have another couple Td's, Cov Cath has a lot of games in the upcoming weeks where Mayer should easily have another 10 TD's by then. Blow out wins against Dixie, Beechwood, Cooper, Boone County. Finally play LaSalle (OH) in week 8.

Campbell County has to start thinking about a QB change and start to look for an offensive coordinator. -47 yards on 34 offensive plays should not cut it anywhere.

How can you be a 6A school, and not have 1 kid stand out? There wasn't even 1 kid that stood out against NCC?? I hope the future looks promising for the Camels.

You will know what the future looks like by there JV team and there youth league. Not sure how they are preforming but that will tell you what’s coming up. There freshmen and jv teams have been pitiful last few years which makes sense why the varsity team had -47 yards on 32 plays.

At that point you, as a school, need to answer a few questions. 1. Is your youth program designed to win at each level, 2. Do you truly value player development, 3. Are 1 and 2 mutually exclusive? I value youth development way beyond youth league championships. Knowing Coach Woolf, I feel like he’d agree. Give him player development from the ages of 8-13 and he will create a winner. This is completely dependent on getting the kids bought in. There have always been a ton of social distractions at CCHS.

Looks like the smartest thing for Mike Wolfe to do would be clean house from top to bottom. Since everyone that coaches in the county program is paid should make it easy to interview and bring in people that fit his model. That is if the school truly values the program for what it is or how it performs. 1700 kids in that school. Most of the athletes don’t play. Someone needs to find the “why”!

As an alumni of CCHS I just don’t understand what has happened to the football program. Yes, they have had some good seasons in the last 20 some years since I graduated but where is the consistency? For a school that large what is the reason? I see many of former alumni’s sons playing at the youth level and up through the high school ranks but where are the rest of these young men? Campbell is growing but I don’t see an influx in more talent. Long gone are the days of that gritty tough Campbell County teams that were coached by Goetz. Tough teams with Menetrey, Stormer, Thorworth, Fornash, Turner, Yates, Milligan and Agee, amongst many others. It’s seems to me they need to get back to their roots and breath some life back into the program starting at the youth level.
