Coach Smith showed great sportsmanship in this one. Put his subs in once it was 29-0 halfway through the first and pretty much called off the dogs once it hit 36-0.

He is to be commended.

Boyle County's offense runs 4 plays for 3 touchdowns in the first 6:00 and pulls its starters with both coaches agreeing to a running clock at 29-0. Second half 8:00 quarters. Enough said on this game.

Definitely respect for Coach Smith and how he handled this game.

Was this a money game for Iroquois?

In the winter/spring of 2018, Boyle County had just won the state title with a sophomore dominated team. When I advertised on the listserve to get teams for our Bowl, ONE team responded wanting to play Boyle in the bowl. That team was Iroquois. At that time, no one had any idea the struggles they would face leading into the 2019 season.

The staffs and administrations of all 3 schools have been in conversations and talks the last few months to navigate the situation the best that we could for everyone involved.

No one could have handled that game classier than Chuck Smith did last night. We all know he is a great coach, but he is also a better friend and person.

We wish both the Rebels and the Raiders best of luck the rest of the season and appreciate them being in our bowl!
