Grothe is young, as is his receiving core. The future looks bright and Birmingham is closer (and warmer) than Charlotte or Detroit.

Congrats Swamprat! So, when a middle of the pack team beats one of the top teams or at least gives them fits in the SEC, that makes the conference more solid top to bottom. But when it happens in the BEast, it makes them look worse...Im not buying it...

The knock on the BEast is that they were a one trick pony after the win over Georiga last year. I saw it used over and over to trash the BEast. Now the conference has proven that on any given week, you have to bring your best. WVU played like crap and lost. That's what SOULD happen with the favorite in a game like this. I know a few SEC teams with that chance on Florida. Too bad they couldn't finish...

This kind of stuff happens in the SEC, too. 4-8 Ole Miss took LSU to the wire in Baton Rouge, 7-5 South Carolina did the same to Florida in Gainesville, and 6-6 Alabama did the same to Arkansas in Little Rock. Only when one of the midpack teams in the Big East does it, the result is a devalued opinion of the entire conference, not an appreciation of how tough it is. I would have thought that after West Virginia won the Sugar Bowl over SEC champ Georgia last year in the Bulldogs' backyard, people would realize the Big East is a very good football conference (especially for having only 8 teams). I'd love to see Arkansas knock off Florida in the SEC championship, just to muddy the picture a bit more. A year ago, people were saying the Big East didn't deserve its BCS bid. What I don't understand is why people aren't saying the same thing about the shockingly mediocre ACC this year.
