Any opinions on if you are better off with turf shoes or regular cleats on the type of turf that Pappa John's has? Or no difference between them??

It's my understanding that regular cleats are fine. I know that Russell wore them last year. The field turf plays similar to regular grass.

Teams wear regular cleats on sports turf.

 

This isn't the same artificial turf like Cardinal Stadium where teams did wear turf shoes.

In my honest opinion, teams that haven't played on turf are at a huge disavantage in playing on it for the first time. I think it is much easier to go from turf to grass than from grass to turf..... While the new stuff is great, it just feels funny, if you haven't been on it before....

I agree. Is there any teams in the Finals who havn't played on turf this year, or has only played a few games?

No difference really on which type of shoes, it is whatever you prefer to wear and what you are used to.

CW...the surface at PJS is exactly the same surface at Mercers indoor facility. They should be very used to playing on that surface.

Cleats. The new turf is more like a grass surface.

The turf at Papa John's is not like the turf we grew up accustomed to seeing.

 

It's about as close to grass as you can get, so cleats are DEFINITELY the shoe to be wearing.

 

It's like the real thing, but not quite...if you catch my drift.

Turf, like Old Cardinal Stadium, like what the NY Giants played on and the Eagles in the NFL, that is where you wear turf shoes, or tennis shoes, but on this Papa Johns turf which is artificial, you need to wear cleats to be able to stay up and not slip.

I really doesnt matter what type of shoes you wear. Some players in High School wear the turf shoes and look fine.

According to the FieldTurf website--Papa John's is all FieldTurf . . . . . including the indoor practice facility.

 

Not much difference . . . . probably the mix.
