Venezuela 3 United States 0 (Soccer)

Featured Replies

Yes, I posted the score correctly. In soccer, the home team is mentioned first.

I created a thread because the match was local at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati.

And, yes, the U.S. play was bad, bad, bad. Paired with the loss last Wednesday to Jamaica, the USMNT had a bad week with friendlies intended to prepare them for the Gold Cup which starts on June 18.

Did anyone else see this? Can the U.S. get used to the new system of manager Gregg Berhalter in time? Can they get the right players in the right positions playing well together? Can they figure out how to play defense? Can some of their shots on goal actually go in when the match counts for something?

We have a policies on how to post final scores. On this board the winning team is posted first. The thread title has been corrected to reflect those policies.

Amazing how the US team has dipped. They've never been great but they were typically competitive. Now they're losing to the minnows of North and South America. Not good.

I watched a few minutes of the Jamaica game. US made a couple of substitutions, immediately telegraphed a pass and gave up the only goal of the game.

Fast forward to the game game against mighty Venezuela. I saw the halftime commentary, which was basically “not only do we stink, but we don’t play hard either”.

Didn't bother to watch any of the second half. Landon Donovan convinced me that it wasn’t a product worth watching.

I’m prepared for the worst at this Gold Cup. Maybe Pulisic, Adams, and Bradley make a big difference but I’m not counting on it.

I didn’t watch any of this match and I doubt I’ll watch much of the Gold Cup until the knockouts.

The national team is what got me to love this sport when I was a kid. Now they’re a consistent afterthought.

This, IMO, is one of the biggest reasons soccer will never be in the US what it is other places.

To be fair, the rise of the professional game is a huge part of what makes them an afterthought. I don't need them anymore.

10 times out of 10 I'd rather watch a Louisville City match than the US.

Actually, that was the first one that I have watched in a couple years myself. I lost interest after they failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia.

On the other hand, I do plan to follow the women in France this month.

I was beer vending the game and had a great time. I couldn't believe how many Venezuelan fans that were at the game.

USA Men's soccer is terrible.
