All I learned yesterday is that when it comes to college basketball people and their expectations are delusional. Anything can and will happen in a single elimination tournament.

Exactly! If it was a best of 7 type tournament UK probably would have had 2 more titles in 2010 and 2015. However would be the exact same number of final fours because the 2011 and 2014 runs never happen in a best of 7 series. Which obviously titles are the end goal. The 2011and 2014 tournament runs produced some of the best memories of any tournament UK has had including title runs.

Coach K just lost with the Nos. 1,2, &3 rated recruits in the 2018 recruiting class. Best Class of overall recruits ever put together at a single school. Still not able to overcome the high quality seasoned vets with an outstanding coach. NCAA is what it is supposed to be....a tough track to navigate with perils awaiting at every moment of the venture.

The bashing on this site would be relentless if Cal lost with those three players and did not get Zion a touch at the end of the game which they lost. Relentless. Are any Duke fans commenting on that?

I guess you mean the final final play where RJ drove to the basket? In which case I think it was a fine call.

Exactly and that coach who just won has always had talented experienced teams, but yet has only won one title in his career. Which is the exact amount Cal has won, and Cal won his more with a one and done team. It truly does show there is no true formula to win it. Some of the best coaches of all time have been lucky to win or two at most if that.

RJ Barrett was one of the best players in all of college basketball but folks act like he wasn’t good enough to take the final shot. People are weird.

That and it would be filled with posts stating that Izzo is the better coach, especially after the play that he drew up where thye hit a wide open 3 out of the timeout.

 

For the record, I think they are both great coaches.

I only tie in coach K to show some of my fellow UK fans how dumb they are with things they say about Cal. Coach K is probably the best coach of all time, and he has gone into the tournament many times with one of the top teams and not even made the final four. Some UK fans are killing coach Cal for the last 4 seasons and no final fours. While during the same time span the best coach of all time Coach K. The guy who has been getting the even better recruits the last 4 years, has literally had the exact same tournament results as Cal. So just showing how crazy people are for wanting Cal gone, because like it or not this is just a dang hard tournament to win no matter who the coach is.

I am wondering if Duke fans are commenting on one and done or lack of touches for Zion at crunch time. Not here, but elsewhere on Duke talk sites. Are they? Are Duke fans questioning Coach K's flip to one and dones or not enough Zion touches?
