I would call them unrealistic expectations.

Unrealistic to expect this team to be playing at a championship level right now?

Actually 3 points just over a minute.

Couldn’t remember what the time exactly was but knew it was under 3 minutes.

Wasn’t Auburn ranked in the Top 10 when the Cats won at Auburn? Tigers scored 80 and Cats 82 in that one.

I’d put Auburn with Okeke as my number 1 team in the country if I had a vote today.

Again I don’t concern myself with where teams are ranked. I get Houston is good. UK should have championship aspirations.

I’m sure they do have Championship aspirations.

I’ve read this thread as a non-UK fan and I can’t help but laugh. UK played some good teams lately in the tournament and did what matters, win. Apparently though we should ignore how good the other teams are and UK should win the Larry O’Brien trophy.

I understand close games are going to happen. But it’s obvious to me watching these last 2 games that UK is vastly superior at every position than Wofford and Houston. But despite that they struggled to develop any semblance of an offense for large portions of both games. I’m not going to act like this is something to ignore simply because they played great defense. Against Auburn great defense isn’t going to be enough. Auburn is going to get theirs and UK is going to have to play a complete game which they haven’t done these past 2 games.

I can almost guarntee if there wasnt another team on the court, UK would easily play a complete game. Only problem is there is another team on the court and they are also playing with their season on the line too and happen to be good teams. Meaning they are also going to be laying it all out there not making anything easy. I would be willing to bet most teams who have won the national title wouldn't say they played a great complete game in all phases for 6 games in a row to win the tournament. What those teams would say would be they did enough to find a way to win in each of those 6 games. Which is all that matters in a one and out tournament.

Just like if UK goes out and beats Auburn tomorrow 92 to 91. In no way did they play a complete game or their best game because that means Auburns offense shredded UKs defense. However, their defense getting destroyed wouldn't matter because all that mattered was once again they won and going to the final four. Meaning one step closer and 2 more wins a way from winning the title.

As they in the fast and furious movies. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning. All that matters is winning on that day no matter how it happens. Once that is done, then finding away to win the next game no matter what. Doesnt matter how it's done as long as it ends with a win.

Scoring 62 points with the talent UK has is 100% a disappointment.

You do understand Houston played deep into the shot clock limiting possessions.

I don't know why Cats fans are worried about this one...it won't be close. Auburn will miss some early 3's, and then the pressure will shrink the rim even more. With no Okeke, UK wins this 76-51.

I’m sure they do have Championship aspirations.

The team of course does. It’s the fans that seem to be content with close wins over Houston.

It doesn’t matter how good Houston is. UK should be better than they played. Bottom line.

If both teams are giving their all, if both teams are out there executing their game plan, and the game is decided by that close of margin, one would think those teams are fairly equal. Except they’re not. UK is a much better basketball team than Houston. If you believe the last sentence like I do, then the first sentence can’t also be true. It’s true that upsets happen. That’s the main reason why I think the NCAA Tournament is a joke because it doesn’t crown the best team, it crowns the team who is playing well for the last month of the season and that’s a shame. But in an effort to not go off on that tangent again, I’ll just leave it at this. UK played a mediocre basketball game last night against an inferior opponent and scraped by with a win. Great teams find a way to win those types of games when they are having an off night. All I’m saying is UK can’t have any more off nights. If they score 62 against Auburn they lose by 20. I believe we’ll see a much better offensive effort tomorrow night, but to act like I don’t have concerns and just fall back on the concept that the only thing that matters is winning, is disingenuous. The only thing that matters is winning the last game. Yes you have to win 5 games before it, but if you fail to play those 5 games in a way that gives you the confidence and momentum to win that last game, then eventually the wheels will fall off. Because when UK steps on that floor tomorrow night they are going to be facing a team that they have already beaten twice, but since that time they have steamrolled 2 great teams. 2 teams that were playing championship level basketball prior to playing Auburn. UK isn’t playing championship level basketball right now. They will need to in order to beat Auburn.

You do understand Houston played deep into the shot clock limiting possessions.

Yes. That leans into it. Houston limited possessions, but UK allowed them to stay close enough that Brooks hit a couple 3 and all of the sudden Houston had the lead. If Houston wants to slow it down, don’t let them. UK is talented enough to play any style of game they want. They can play uptempo like they likely will against Auburn or they can sit back play great defense and run half court sets all night. UK should never allow the other team to dictate how the game is going to be played. If Houston wants to hold the ball, force the tempo. When Auburn wants to play uptempo, be patient and force them into taking bad shots. Just don’t let the game be decided on the other coaches gameplan.

It doesn’t matter how good Houston is. UK should be better than they played. Bottom line.

Do you understand sports? You do understand that it does matter how good the other team is right?

We saw in college football last year that Ohio State could put up 60+ in some games. Why didn’t they do that every game? They could do it so why didn’t they? I bet it has something to do with the other team and playing defense..

The point that seems to be missed is that Houston is a good team and was one of the better ones in the country this year. Apparently that doesn’t matter though.

The team of course does. It’s the fans that seem to be content with close wins over Houston.

I don't think they are "content" they won. I think they are "happy" they advanced no matter the margin. It's the tournament, it's survive and advance. Auburn, Duke, Virginia, and UK have all survived and advanced at one time or another in this tournament. You keep talking about Auburn being dominate, they were very lucky to survive that 1st round game.
