That’s not how I feel at all. All I’ve ever been saying is they need to play better to win it all. You can’t keep throwing out the same effort as they had against Wofford and Houston. The teams left are too damn good.

In a one and out tournament, I don't care how it is done so long as the team I'm pulling for wins. Winning is the only thing that matters. UK could win 1 to 0 today and it could be the most boring game ever witnessed and I'd still be happy because they advanced.

 

You take wins any way that you can get them right now. One thing I have seen out of this UK team is that they know how to "grind" out a victory.

 

Another thing, they just got they're best player back from injury. That can affect what a team looks like especially in the first game or two.

 

One thing that will not happen, is that if they lose today I will not think to myself "At least they were clicking".

 

Lastly, this is kind of how this UK team has played all year. They haven't blown many teams out. Even the games that looked like they had solid margins on the scoreboard, if most of those games are looked into you'd see that they were close games up until the under 4 minute tv timeout in the second half. So, "ugly" is sort of how this UK team wins.

Ugly is not how this team wins. Ugly is how they won the last 2 games. 5 weeks ago this team was playing great basketball. 5 weeks ago they were playing the best basketball in the country. They need to play at that level again to win this tournament. That’s what I want to see.

How much of Houston did you watch this year?

Watched their games against UC and against OSU in the round of 32. But as far as the rest of your post about football, I feel the same way about Ohio State football as I do UK basketball. I don’t care who lines up across from them. If Ohio State executes at the level they are supposed to, they win easily except for notable exceptions like Alabama. If Ohio State puts together a poor performance and loses I’m looking straight in the mirror and not talking about how great the other team played. When Ohio State lost to Purdue I didn’t talk about how great Purdue played. I don’t care how great Purdue played, Ohio State shouldn’t have even been in a game like that against Purdue. You saw it at the end of the year against Michigan. Michigan was the top rated defense in the country. Ohio State drops a cool 62 points on them without breaking a sweat. That’s what Ohio State is supposed to do. If they didn’t then it wouldn’t be because of Michigan, it would be because of Ohio State not executing. You can cut Ohio State and paste UK and the same premise applies. If they play like they’re supposed to, no one beats them except for a team on a level playing field like Duke.

Ironically, I will be watching this game from Auburn. BTW, they tp’d the commons after the last game, and I mean a lot of tp.

 

However, I think Kentucky beats the short-handed Auburn team. UK has demonstrated a way to keep Auburn uncomfortable, and I think that is the difference.

Reid Travis didnt play or practice until the Sec Tournament. Then PJ got hurt and didnt play in the 2 tournament games. Then PJ didnt get to have a live practice with contact at all before playing this last game. It's not hard to see many why offensively they may not look as great as 5 weeks ago as you said. Hard to be in that same rhythm when guys haven't got to play or practice together as a full roster in 5 weeks. Hence why just finding ways to win is all that matters. Just like finding a way to win today will be all that matters. Then hopefully Washington can heal up even more and get true practices in before the final four.

 

This team can make the finals without firing on all cylinders on offense. Duke is the only team where they will have to fire on all cylinders both offensively and defensively to beat. So if UK and Duke end up meeting up, then I doubt you get as much push back about you complaining about how they have won. Against Duke they will need it to be their best on both sides.

It's not agreeing with you at all. Upsets happen in this tournament. Hence why unlike you I am fine with how they won. Winning is all that matters, no matter how its done. If UK wins today 91 to 90, that means the offense played great and the defense sucked and got destroyed. Which means they still didnt play a complete game which you keep saying you want. It just means they found another way to win again, which is all that matters. Finding ways to win for that particular game on that given day. If they win today by a how scoring game you wont find me complaining about the defense. I will be celebrating that they are another step closer to the end goal. Then finding whatever way it takes to beat Virginia.

3 games left. If they lose today it’s not because of the two injuries, it’s because they didn’t execute. That’s a simple fact. Also when did I say 90-85 would be a complete game? If they give up 85 points today it would be a poor effort defensively no doubt about it. In a perfect world UK wins this game 85-70 something along those lines.

I feel like I am in the movie Ground Hog Day with this thread. If they score 85 today or 50 today and win, I don’t care. Go Cats!!
