I think Bowling Green, coming into Downtown Louisville, against one of the most athletically gifted teams in the state, will be a nightmare.

May mapquest give excellent directions to the Purples.... and may the bus driver go the correct way on Broadway following the game!

Central is never short on the athletes, but what exactly has kept them from a championship thus far???? I would not be surprised if the Purples come in town and take that chance from Central this week. It would not be a shock, a meltdown is coming just whether it happens this friday or in the Final is anybodies guess.

Westsider what is a good barometer?

In our other discussion you discounted the Lit Ratings as being unreliable..now the AP ratings....

The AP poll is generally considered as being the least reliable ... we've had that discussion here for a long time. My research has shown that the Litratings are less reliable than Cantrall and Massey.
Side note, I do agree with you. If nothing else OC has painted themselves into the pictures of being the giants... from all indications on this site the 2003, 2004, and 2005 OC team was the greatest thing to happen to football since goalposts!
Amen to that ...

I generally would put it:

1. BGP (best cross section, more informed, no computer to take into effect and no "magic number"

2. Massey (Most tried and true computer ranking)

3. AP (This is variable depending on who/how many vote)

4. Cantrell (The magic number is always there, but considerably better than...)

5. Lit (Horrible....)

I've done some research concerning the rankings/rating system and their ability to forecast the playoffs for the last few years ... BGP, Cantrall and Massey consistently beat AP and Litkenhous.

Not meaning to interrupt the sidebar going on regarding the ranking systems, but I'm going to go with OC beating Mercer as the biggest upset in the state this week. Now you all may continue with your meaningless ranking systems.

IN 04, Corbin was ahead on every poll because of Catholic's record. Catholic was having a rocky season starting out 1-3. That is why we were not ranked higher than Corbin that year. Just the same way this year. BGP doesn't even have us ranked.

I agree that we have become Giants of 2A. Not agruing that fact. The fact is that we were ranked lower than all the teams we have faced in O4 and 05, that too was a fact. 03 we were suppose to be the unbeatable team, but we choked. Ever since then we have had the ability of pulling upsets because of some players stepping it up. "For the record, Making it to semi-state is a privilege for OC. Before 03, it only happened once for us in 97, which pulled an upset that year (Franklin Simpson, which was the unbeatable that year). I just saying let us play the game at least before counting us out, or should we not show up?

No, they weren't. At the end of the regular season, Corbin was ranked behind Owensboro Catholic by Cantrall, Litkenhous and BGP.

Yeah, Franklin-Simpson went 5-5 in the regular season and finished second to Glasgow in their district ... they were really "unbeatable."

As often as you portray Owensboro Catholic as the Cinderella team, it's a wonder they are ever ranked.

I had to go with the Trinity/HC game. How long has it been since the 4A trophy left Louisville?

10 years Nelson County 1996.

I thought Mercer County was a 4A school!?!

And there you have it:lol:

Wondered how long it would be before some went there.
