Has there ever been an official rating?

A few years ago USA Today did a list of the top gyms in America to watch high school basketball. Various schools were on the list with 10,000+ seating and a hanging scoreboard and things of that nature.

CovCath's gym was ranked #13 in the nation, and as everyone from NKY knows... the gym building itself is not spectacular. It's what comes inside for the games that makes it that good.

Although they only had a JV schedule watch out Bishop Brossart's student section. If they support football like they do their other sports they are as wild and crazy as anybody.

This thread ends up in basketball and football discussions almost every season and the consensus is usually the same. CCH.

Wow. Didn't even realize I had gotten to 200+ posts. No Guru, but by no means a rookie. :thumb:

CovCath has the best student section with out a doubt.......

I would have to agree!

So who can we talk too or petition into having a Kentucky Student Section Ranking

Do you have a group in mind that you'd like to give some props to? You appear to be dancing around something. Let us know who you think has the best student section. :thumb:

As has been mentioned on this thread, this subject comes up more often than not. If you research the subject especially prior to last years Sweet Sixteen Tournament you would find many, many Bball fans were hoping that CovCath got into the Tournament. Now what is strange about that, is that most didn't care about the CovCath Basketball Team, but wanted to see the Crazies in action again, and the Crazies didn't let the fans down either. Besides getting the entire Rupp arena doing the wave, which anyone can do they got the entire Rupp Arena crowd doing the fast forward wave, the rewind wave, and then the s l o w m o t i o n w a v e. You had to be there to see it... Then at half time after doing their now famous "Roller Coaster Cheer", they came out with a new one "The Fight Cheer" it was great and how many times have you see an entire Arena filled with better than 18,000 people stand up and give a student section a standing "O". Now until someone else does this at a venue the size of Rupp, or until some other school gets the KHSAA to give their school a trophy, there will be one, and only one school that will be talked about as the best. You can if you like talk about who is second, but who is the best has been decided.......a long time ago.......

Technically, that cheer came from Cincy St. X. But a great post.

No I honestly would enjoy seeing a state wide ranking. One I would like to know where my school ranks and two I would like to hear what makes the tops schools the best e.g. their cheers, their numbers, or just because they get buck wild when the buzzer sounds.

Varsity Card, I would rank CCH at the top. If you have never seen them , you are in for a treat. I end up watching the student section and not the ball game. They are so supportive of their team and very entertaining. So spontanous to what is happening at the game ( shoe chant at Rupp) To sum them up...student section with class.:thumb:

Im just glad more than 10 Trinity students showed up for the game Friday.

Goodness, I hope not. No disrespect to my CovCath friends, but I've never understood the pre occupation with cheering. Maybe things have changed since I played (no leather helmet comments please), but when I was on the field I was so focused on my assignment, I totally tuned out everything else, particularly the bleachers. And sure as heck didn't need some cheering section to get me fired up to play. If it took that, I shouldn't have played the game. Maybe today's players are into that stuff (NFL syndrome?) more than when I played and they get some "lift" out of the cheering going on, but to this old fogey its just a bunch of non players trying to get some attention while not playing the game. Genuinely sorry if that's offensive to those of you who think otherwise or to those students who obviously put a lot of time into the planning and doing the cheering, but its just how I feel.
