Let's just say for arguements sake that USC loses to California, then beats Notre Dame. Arkansas loses to LSU, then beats Florida in the SEC Title game. Rutgers loses to either UC or WVU. If all of this were to happen, and there is a rematch in the Fiesta Bowl, and Michigan beats Ohio State by 3 or less. Who is voted the National Champion?

Michigan, but would they really be the National Champion? That means in the last two games they have played this year that them and OSU have split. So how can we say Michigan is the Champ and OSU is not when they just beat them the game before?

 

These two teams are the best two teams, but this is sometimes like the final four in college when you use to sometimes have the best two teams plain the final four and not the championship game. IMO this was like a final four game because they both knew the winner of this game would be in the title game, and so the losing team had their shot. So now IMO another team should have their shot at OSU. I really hate to say it but OSU is definitely the best team in the country, but some other team should be able to get their chance at them now, even though OSU probably would win that game too...

Really I thought it was the opposite? I thought if the AP was apart of the BCS that they also had to vote the winner of the BCS title game the Champion. But since they are not apart of the BCS, that now they can vote someone else as the number one at the end of the year and give them the national title?

Are you sure about that? I thought that the AP told the BCS they didn't want their polls to be associated with the BCS.

If USC wins out it will be USC, but if USC losses a game. Then we will see a rematch unfortunately...

Actually, I remember how it went down. The BCS was pressuring the AP behind the scenes to agree to vote whoever won the BCS NC game the champion. The AP took a vote from among the voting members (newspapers, TV stations, etc.) and they decided to pull out of the BCS formula as a protest over USC/LSU. The Auburn shutout of the NC game was kind of the final straw.
