I was originally opposed to this idea, but after this classic game today, given that it was at OSU and they won by three, and with the distractions over Bo's death, I have no doubt it could be an even better game six weeks from now.

I don't think a rematch would be close at all.

It was a great game but I just don't favor a rematch. Here's the reason: Michigan HAD their shot tonight. Let's say they play in 6 weeks and Michigan turns the tables and wins by 3 or less--what then? Shouldn't they be co-champs? Since we don't have a playoff system to decide these things I feel like tonight was a defacto playoff game. Michigan lost, someone else should get a shot now that way if OSU is upset in a bowl game at least that team will be able to claim that they beat the #1 in their only head to head matchup.

OSU turned it over 3 times, twice on bad snaps, once an int on a tipped ball. I don't recall UM turning it over at all, but I'm not sure. I think UM had all the stars lined up for them, and they still couldn't get it done.

At the other end of the spectrum, UM had to deal with the Bo distraction, and the fact they were playing on the road. I say neutral site would make for another classic.

I want ND to be in the Championship game, but IMO there is no way now my ND team will get into the title game now. There is only one team IMO that stands in the way of there being a rematch and that is USC, because if USC wins out they will be in the title game...

IMO, it's awful hard to keep your mind focused on business at hand when your thoughts keep turning toward your lost loved ones.

While Bo was greatly respected at UM, don't you think "loved one" might be a stretch for those 18-23 yr old players?

We've went over this in the obit thread. Bo has remained a part of that program for many years, and spoke to the team the night before the game. Beloved is a very appropriate word to describe him.
