The reason they are no longer in the BCS is because they didn't put LSU #1 over USC...

Say USC wins out and the AP has them #2 in their poll, while the coaches poll keeps UM at #2 and then after everything in the computers is counted up and if UM is #2 in the BCS still and gets the rematch and wins the rematch. While USC goes and wins their bowl game. Then wouldn't if the AP votes USC #1 wouldn't that be a split championship because USC USC would get the AP National Championship throphy, and UM would get the BCS one?

Who cares? The only reason it was an issue before is because it made for a split BCS title. They can crown who ever they want now, but it doesn't mean anything...

The AP took a vote from among the voting members (newspapers, TV stations, etc.) and they decided to pull out of the BCS formula as a protest over USC/LSU. The Auburn shutout of the NC game was kind of the final straw.

Right. But the AP and its members (voters) revolted over the feeling they were being railroaded by the BCS. Hence, the split.

If they want to give out a trophy for ending #1, what do you think will be done with it. What are your thoughts on the numerous teams that claim championships from years ago? Right now, that's where the AP has returned...

So when the BCS has one team as the #1 team in the country when the season is over, and the AP has another team as the #1 team in the country to end the year. That it wont matter and everyone would recognize the BCS champion as the TRUE national champion? Even though there is another poll out there saying another team is the best team in the country...

 

You all need to understand I dont think this will happen, because I think if USC wins out that they will get put into the title game over UM anyways. But I just bringing it up just in case that would happen, and they would leave USC out of the title game in favor of UM even if they win out...

Maybe it's just the impetus needed to blow up the BCS system, which has shown itself to not work very well.
