So what you have 7 wins, 6 are against Vandy (4-7), Mississippi (3-7), Mississippi State (3-7), Texas State (4-6), Central Michigan (7-4 MAC), and Louisiana Monroe (2-7)....something to hang your hat on ole Rich! Is Kentucky dumb enough to give this man an extension???:confused: Because of the strength of the SEC & playing a team in and out of the top 10 this season in UL, UK's strength of schedule is anywhere from #23 to #27 in the country (out of 240 teams). Only 2 SEC teams had tougher schedules. Miss St and Ole Miss gave some of the top SEC teams fits. UK did beat GA. Vandy lost close ones (except today against UT). He has done this with a very good offense, 73 frosh/sophs, playing more frosh than everyone in the country (except 4 teams), and a defense that at times makes big plays, but others (like today and LSU) looks very weak, especially against the run. He took over a sinking ship taking on water and has done things we haven't seen in UK for years (4 SEC wins, shot at #2 in east, but no worse than #3), a guaranteed bowl bid, etc. Noone else wanted the job. He was brought in to clean up the mess left behind by others. You have to walk before you crawl and why would you schedule a top 10 ranked schedule when only 2-3 of top 10 ranked teams had a stronger SOS than UK? And we are talking about KENTUCKY, ... not Florida, not Tennessee, not LSU, not Alabama, not Auburn, ... UK! This is a program that until last season had a losing overall record against Vanderbilt! Vandy for goodness sakes! It's not like he was asked to rebuild Oklahoma, Texas, Notre Dame, Alabama or any school with a long and storied tradition in football. Like Brooks or not, he has already done more than anyone thought he would this season. The extension is to help with recruiting, and this staff has proven that they can recruit good players. To the game, ... the offense did their job, but the defense was atrocious. Archer was too stubborn to change his scheme and try something different when ULM proved they could not throw the ball against UK consistently, and just ran the same sets and plays over and over and over again. I was there and I know the talk was how highly ranked the O line was for ULM. Yes they were solid, but to walk all over our defense like that was inexcusable. The defense cannot count on the offense to be in scoring position on nearly every possession against UT they way they were against ULM today. They have to step up and play MUCH better for UK to have even a remote shot in Knoxville next week. I expected a little bit of a letdown, but the defense was just plain horrible this week.

You can say the same thing for the basketball programs.

LOL The thing is UK is a place for up and coming coaches (The Bear) or ones that are just taking space up on the sidelines (Bill Curry, Rich Brooks). So thanks UK for being idiots and letting go of the best college football coach ever...May you forever enjoy your music and peaches...Do they give out Music and Peach Bowl runner up rings???
