Highlands and Dixie are winners tonight.

Dixie with a big 4th quarter run that was fueled by undeserved technical foul on conner’s center. An emotional moment of two players bumping shoulders. Totally undeserved. Leads to 4 Dixie pts I believe and fouled out conners center.

 

Cougars with late push but too little too late.

 

Syd Lockhart was in control. Dixie coaching completely outdid conners.

Technical was deserved, can’t react like that after a whistle, easy call, Dixie missed several free throws in 4th qtr, Connor should have gave Hurst the ball everytime down the court.

They did. She took 80% of the shots for the game

Hurst is a phenomenal player. 1st team All-9th Region for a reason. But for the first 3.5 quarters Connor looked like they didn't know how to score without the ball in her hands. They looked lethargic and a bit lost defensively.

 

It made me wonder if the flu might be running through Connor?

The Flu? come on... give Dixie credit they came in with a good game plan and executed.

 

I have watched Conner play several times this year and other than the big time Ryle match-ups they have looked "lethargic". Makes me think they took Dixie lightly and didn't respond well when Dixie came out and punched them in the mouth.

Nah don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to dog Dixie at all. I thought the gameplan and the player efforts were absolutely fantastic. You don't beat a top 5 team without a great performance. I'm just saying, Connor didn't look themselves. Maybe that was all Dixie's doing. It just didn't look like Connor came with their best.

Conner is a jump shooting team and a very good one at that... If they aren't hitting 3s they struggle offensively. I thought Drummond looked good last night but next year will be tough sledding with all of those guards graduating (Hurst, Jordan, Strange).

Agree. The Conner team that played last night was not the same team I saw play against Ryle twice and Simon Kenton (second game). Those games had a lot more energy and a lot more team ball.

I think having the girls play at BB&T arena while a good/neat experience kinda takes the energy out of the game. I personally love it more room to move around not crowded but for girls region games it's a little big.
