Marathon on 27 in Alexandria - What's The Story?

Anyone know the story with the Marathon on U.S. 27 in Alexandria? The one that sits in front of Meijer's. Their gas is always priced at $2.44, never changes, even when Speedway right next to it is $1.98. Cars are always parked there late at night when I drive home (e.g. 10:00pm). I'm not sure I've ever seen someone get gas there during the day.

 

So what's up? They closed and just leave the sign lit? They remodeling inside or something? Just always been curious.

I'm certainly not privy to any insider information. So this is pure speculation on my part, but I think that the gas station has some dealings with a used car dealership. Not sure where that dealership is though.
