The Big Three 2007?

Featured Replies

Not by much but some of our best QBs have not been over six feet. Stein will bring more speed coming out of the pocket. Nick has been one tuff leader in big games so we will miss that for sure. i think what he has done for two years speaks for itself. I think X felt alot of that this past season, great year but seemed to be missing that one player in the pocket that had lead them so well. sorry name eludes me but that kid could play.

I think a lot of that was brought on by the coaching staff trying to run a dual Quarterback system. I have yet to see a good example of that philosophy work out for a championship win at any level of the game. If anyone knows of one, please correct me!

I think X's problems are now solved...and next year they will be on a tear.

What makes you think that?

I agree with RockPride X will have something to prove next year and has the players to do it( not saying they did not have the players this year but this team had some major group dynamics that just were not clicking). Team chemistry will not be an issue for this next squad. New stadium, renewed attitude on team defense ( which is a staple of all good X teams) and a heavy plate full of in your face power running to go around for everyone.

I'm going out on a limb and predict that the Rocks take #18 in 07 to complete a duo of three-peats in just 7 seasons. I think Male will be hit hard by the graduation of Mr. Football Doug Beaumont. Likewise, the graduation of Vic Anderson will be too much for the Tigers to overcome. The Rocks started 9 underclassmen this past season. There was also a large number not starting but playing key roles. Couple that with another outstanding JV season and the future looks pretty bright in St.Matthews. Go Rocks, take the first 6A title.:thumb:

I just found this out the other day...did you all know that only one school has ever repeated in 4A? Guess who that is...

I'll second that!

Hey RP, I assume you mean TERROR.

I'd hate to see those X boys out there in torn Jerseys or Pants, especially on a brand new football field. That just would not be right!

BTW, Big time Congrats on #17.

How many have "nearly" repeated? ;)

Is that three-peats or repeats? Because if memory serves, Trinity also had repeats in '72-'73 and '76-'77. Someone correct me if my memory serves me right.

You're right on 76-77 but 72-73 was in AAA.

not to mention teams that should have nearly three-peated.:D

Those "last games" can be a nightmare.

Taller than Petrino

No..Will is shorter.

If the Rocks stay healthy, especially on defense...#18 will be on the way. Stein MUST prove he can manage the game

I was looking at the state title years on the sleeve of my son's sweatshirt and wondered if anybody thought it was turning into the HUGE ONE followed by the BIG TWO? For sure, thus far, this decade belongs to St. Mathews.
