However, for that +$5M, you pick up an everyday starter, a platoon player and a solid starter and lose, at best, a middle reliever with a bad attitude and bad history.

He’s reunited with his battting coach with whom he has a great relationship.

Also he gets to bat around Suarez/Votto/Winker and possibly Senzel who all get on base a lot in a more hitter friendly park. My guess is he’s thrilled.

He was hitting in a better lineup in LA but the increase in homers should definitely help increase his value when he hits the open market after next season. Just curious, where does this leave Senzel for next season? It appears a supersub is the only open spot for him. Maybe traded for Bauer, Syndergaard, Bumgarner or Kluber?

Little or no value to Senzel unless he's getting regular ABs and playing time. Coming off an injury and the fact that he was not "can't miss" before the injury, you proceed with caution there. If he doesn't come up in 2019, there will be plenty of room in 2020.

Maybe CF or 2B depending on Schebler or Scooter being invlodes in a trade. Or like you said being invloded in one himself which I don’t see that happening. CF would likely only be for one year anyway so if he can be serviceable in ST there that would be ideal.

Sure, the deal will sell some tickets and make them more competitive but it doesn't come close to making them a playoff team. Hopefully it is the first of a couple of big moves.

I hope the Reds do not let Scott Schebler get in the way of playing time for Senzel. Schebler is the one who should be in the role of super sub if Senzel is healthy.

The only two on the list that have turned into quality major leaguers are Peraza and Winker. We still don't know for sure how good Winker will be for how long because of injuries and poor defense. Peraza really wasn't a Reds farm system product so we can throw him out of this discussion. Besides those two, anyone who looks at the list would trade any of the other 28 on that list today, four years later, for a definite proven MLB starting player. Of course there are exceptions with the "no doubt" top tier prospects, but generally trading prospects that are still two years of more away from the majors doesn't bother me.

That was my thoughts as well. Also, if they do contend looking enough not to flip them at the deadline it will probably be safe to give Puig and Wood qualifying offers and get the supplemental picks if they go elsewhere. Probably can't do that with Kemp though.
