The “fake” was not a fake. Bass didn’t catch the snap cleanly.

 

This may be ugly but these teams are knocking the snot out of each other.

 

If you are directing that towards me I did say fake/broken play.

We don’t have a punter. The place kick is the same as a punt. Kinda. It’s high school football, sometimes you have to improvise.

Can someone help me with something? If Franklin-Simpson lines up in a field goal formation for their punts, couldn't JC just not put anyone back to return it and get the ball at the spot of the kick? I mean, it is technically a field goal attempt isn't it? Not sure about the ruling on something like that.

 

I assume Georgia and Kentucky has the same rule.

Additionally, if it is a long FG kick and you catch it in the endzone you cannot return it as it would be a Touchback

A FG attempt is a scrimmage kick and is treated like a punt. A missed FG attempt is put in play at the spot it is declared dead. You are thinking of the college & pro rule.

Could it be a long snapping issue? Able to snap the shorter FG snap but not the longer Punt snap?

I apologize if this has been covered, but have they done this all year or did punter get injured at some point.

I am sure the Coach has a valid reason but it has hurt FS in this game.
