That Boyle drive would eventually end. Belfry would proceed to fumble on their last two possessions of the Half and Boyle would cash both of those in for TDs to take a 14-10 lead and eventually pull away.

That’s horrible. That being said, the quality of officiating has really fallen off in the last few years.

I can’t believe that from this clip you can see the eyes of the defender, or hands on the back on Smith. I’ll take the word of the neutral paid person that was 10 feet from the play until I can see something better that can prove the ref was wrong.

 

This video was taken from the top of the press box on the opposite side of the field and zoom/jumps during the play. Unless I see something different the call was correct IMO. The video does show the flag came out even before the ball was intercepted.

Unless he looking out his ear hole, he was looking at the ball. Your right I can’t see that his head is straight in his helmet. I don’t have a dog in this fight to make me bias one way or the other. Can you say the same?

As said before, it was a bang bang play. I feel that you can see or not see whatever you want to if you are a fan of either team.

If as someone stated earlier, the high school rule is any contact by the defense on the WR while the ball is in the air is PI then I think they called it correct. It appears to me on that one poor video that the defender got there first...which by rule would seem to be PI.

 

I have great respect for both schools, that's just how I see it from that video.

This is a no call Touchdown by the book. The ball appears to be snapped at the 44 yard line with d line at about the 44.5 yard mark and first contact occurs at the 46 yard line.

I know it was mentioned that you can’t touch the rec at all but I’ve never witnessed it enforced like that. In fact on the HS level you use to (and can still a lot of times) get away with beating the snot out of recs.

If that is the rule that no PI can occur within two yards of the LOS, then I reverse my earlier opinion...it should have been a TD Belfry.

In the expanded neutral zone you can jam the receiver so you can have contact there which is where this contact occurs. The ball must clear the expanded neutral zone untouched before you the contact restrictions kick in.

Should be a no call. Defender is playing to keep the ball from being caught and it happens to hit his arm and pops up to the belfry defender. If the Belfry defender misses that is 6.

Looks like a bang bang play to me and it should be a Touchdown.

 

I agree. ^ just what I stated above. The receiver very easily could of been going the other way for 6.
