I'm not sure about how many penalty yards, but Cov Cath did have a 2nd quarter penalty called back for holding.

 

I also had a LOT of folks texting me about a no-call hit on Duncan Summe while he was up in the air going for a 45 yard pass reception in the 1st quarter. Duncan had jumped up and was fully extended with his hands on the ball, and the Campbell County defensive back (reportedly) launched himself head-first and hit Duncan squarely in the ribs with his helmet and shoulder pads while Duncan was "defenseless" in the air.

 

15-0 is very, very good. This game gives me no worries about if the Colonels are ready for the playoffs. The fact that a 28 point shutout on the road against a 6A team has people jib jabbing is ridiculous.

As for the complaints about the no-call (I'm assuming that's what you meant by jib jabbing), I think it was primarily the fact that Cov Cath had a boatload of penalties called against them tonight - whether or not they were legitimate - yet a seemingly obvious call against Campbell County was ignored.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t referring to you for jib jabbing,ha. I was just referring to the comments about Cov Cath not scoring as much as they should have. I quoted by mistake, it’s not really even related to your comment.

Have fun at practice tomorrow boys!! Coach E is going to have a field day with you on the double digit penalties that either nullified a big play, put you in 3rd and a million, or gave Campbell County the ball back after a stop. Defense was lights out which is predictable.

CovCath outgained Campbell 396-61 in total yards.

 

THIS. It shows the lopsided nature of the game, and doesn't take into account a long TD run, and many other big plays that were negated. The D did their job as Campbell County couldn't do anything. The offense started to get in going in the 2nd Half, and did the right thing by taking a knee at the end of the game so the score was not worse. I am guessing there were 15 penalties which negated an additional 200 yards of offense and a couple more scores.

Coach Woolf so deserves all the accolades he has received as a player and coach. He is beloved by his former players. Very cool of Cov Cath to honor a legendary player and well respected coach.

Really glad to hear this. Great kid. Thankfully he is a junior and will have another chance next season.

Great to have Shriver back as well. Young man was a wrecking ball during their championship run last year. His senior leadership and physical style of play will be important for the Colonels in the playoffs. Glad to see they are getting back to full strength at the right time.

Agreed. The CC defender delivered the hardest hit I’ve seen all season and it was completely legal and clean. He did not lead with the helmet. I hope both players are ok because that was as physical of a play as you’ll see.

Jolly could do nothing. He was not able to catch a ball because of the inaccuracy of the QB.
