I will pick Newport Central Catholic over Beechwood by 7. The final will be Newport Central Catholic 21 and Beechwood 14. At this time of year with Beechwood healthy it is an even match. I think NCC has just enough to get by them otherwise. Good LUCK to both teams.

Big Noah Litmer and company will control the ball on the ground. I look for NCC to eke this out in a titanic defensive struggle. NCC 13 BW 10

One thing that people are forgetting to mention about this game is how Beechwood seems to have the mental edge on NCC. For years I have heard people saying NCC is superior to Beechwood in talent but since reg. season '03, NCC has not beat Beechwood head to head. This IMO is a big deal, Beechwood has that psychlogical edge over NCC and like every rivalry game u can through records and talent out the window. So IMO I am going with Beechwood on a last min TD again. Beechwood will just find a way to win. GO TIGERS!!!!

Bankamper is a HUGE loss to this Beechwood team but i still think they can pull out a tough one by 3

I agree 100% that both teams have talent but I was saying what alot of NCC fans have said over the last 3 yrs. I think both teams are so even its not even funny but it does hurt Beechwood losing Tommy but I think Elliott can make up for Tommy's yards with his feet as well as his arm.

Really, why do you think that? No kidding!! However, for a soph who has never started and not use to carrying the ball as much as he did, Nikko did a great job. He got his feet wet and built his confidence level up.

 

You obviously can not compare NCC/Dayton's D, apples and oranges.

 

Beechwood will be fine, if Teipel can't do it then Amelung will. If all else fails, last time I checked Beechwood has a pretty good QB who can throw and run w/a trio of recievers.

 

I will say this will be a great game and it won't be an NCC win by 11pts as you predicted.

 

By the way, what team do you cheer for, I know it is never Beechwood?

 

I was rooting for Beechwood the whole way, and I cleary showed it in my predicitions for the game and after the game...You know what that is great that the kid had a good game against Dayton and I wish him the best of luck this week. However I did watch Amelung when he came in against HC, and well I dont think he will be able to do much against NCC. I haven't seen Teipel so I really cant say on how I will think he will do, but he better do good then if they want to win this game.

 

You say it wont be a 11 point win for NCC like I predicited, but I remember OldCoach saying the same thing to me when I predicited my score for the Beechwood vs. Holy Cross game. And well look how wrong he turned out. So you dont know anymore than I do who will win, and how much a team will win by. So dont go saying that what my predicition was wrong and it wont happen because you have no clue what will happen...

 

I know I really didn't have much rooting interest in this game before, I just thought NCC would win the game thats all. But now I do think I definitely will root for NCC to win...

I believe it is you who missed something. Read his post again and you will see that he is picking NCC but saying that if BHS were healthy it would be a different type of game.

Thanks for the grammar lesson but I did read what was said and understood it in the present tense of the English language. "At this time of yr w/BHS healthy IT IS AN EVEN MATCH." I didn't take this to mean they weren't healthy. BHS wasn't at 100% in the first match up. Even w/#4 out this will still be a barn burner.

 

Future, what oldcoach predicted has nothing to do w/this game. I also had BHS beating HC by many. I just don't think NCC will beat BHS by 11. If they win it will be under 5, if BHS wins it will be by at least 14.
