Check out SparksWillFly35 of the Ashland Daily Independent on twitter, he has the details.

I would like to hear some details about this game.

All of the offense in this one came in the 1st half. Halftime score was also the final score. Boyd County's special teams really hurt them. Gotta make those extra points. This sets up East Carter versus Rowan County next week for the #4 seed in their district. The same scenario played out last year with Rowan grabbing the last playoff spot.

They may neither make the playoffs but it does seem like both East Carter and Boyd County have improved this season.

I'm really not sure if they've improved or not. It looked early on like Boyd was in for a better year, but their two wins are over teams with a combined record of 0-15. And East Carter has beaten the same four teams they beat last year, and none of them are very good. So basically... :idunno:

I think Champlin (EC) and Manning (BC) might be good coaches, but it's going to take a lot of time and patience to build those schools into consistent winners.

I am a big believer on building comes from the bottom up.

I think you have to get the numbers in the lower levels and continue to build them up all through the high school years.

I have heard many of ways teams.coaching staffs do this and I believe one off the best ways is to have the varsity head coach talking tot he younger teams on a

regular basis.

I also like having the star players at each position doing the same thing.

Just my thoughts.

Boyd County runs a very unique(odd) offense to say the least. Involves a lot of fake high snaps to the QB and direct snaps to the up backs. The only thing that really makes it effective is the fact that Boyd County routinely snaps the ball high out of the shotgun. So the QB does in fact have to chase balls snapped over his head.

I’m sure it’s fun for some of the players but I don’t see it being very effective as a scheme.

I agree with DevilMayCare, I can’t really see where either team has taken a step forward. But I would argue East Carter more so than Boyd County.
