Garrard County dominated Danville's D line. #63 for Garrard is a grown man!!! Danville came out of Lancaster very lucky. #2 Brennan McGuire was the player of the game, he carried Danville the whole game.

Garrard ran 77 (74 rushing attempts) to Danville’s 28. I was surprised at Danville’s inability to tackle on the perimeter tonight. McGuire can fly for the Ads though.

Time of possession I believe was 37 minutes for Garrard, 11 for Danville. Garrard dominated the entire game except for McGuire. And he was enough for the Admirals. Really exciting game.

Garrard dominated Danville’s run defense, but not Danville’s offense, they ran by Garrard like they were standing still, when they were stopped offense they stopped themselves a fumble deep in Garrard territory, 2 terrible snaps in a row deep in Garrard territory and some stupid penalties. McGuire was the big play guy but other players made some good plays. Garrard’s run game was dominant but defense was not. I thought Danville’s coaching staff should have crowded the line of scrimmage and dared Garrard to throw but they never did.

True. My comment about dominating was more about how Garrard had the ball all night and Danville's defense couldn't get off the field. Honestly, Danville ran so few plays that it was tough to gauge much about what they were doing other than getting it to guys in space and letting them run free.

Quick question for you (and any Danville fan): did Danville let Garrard score with a minute left to make it 22-22 (Garrard missed the two-point conversion)?

I really think they did, and thought they should to save time to score, they did enough to stop the Garrard 2 pt conversion, then scored themselves in a couple of plays, Garrard then didn’t have time to respond, don’t get me wrong Garrard played there hearts out. Jerry Perry did about everything He could for His team to win, He’s a great veteran Coach, hats off to the Golden Lions.

What's going on with the high snaps, snaps over the qb's head? This has been a problem the last 3 weeks. Is their a new center or something?

I really think they did, and thought they should to save time to score, they did enough to stop the Garrard 2 pt conversion, then scored themselves in a couple of plays, Garrard then didn’t have time to respond.

 

I think so too. If so, it was a smart move, one that no one ever makes. If you're Garrard, you have to score, because if you fall down on purpose before going in and then fail to score later you'd be crucified. Interesting little game of cat-and-mouse.

Congrats to Jerry Perry. No reason this game should have been close.

Garrard would take the next nine minutes off of the clock, pounding the ball down to the Danville five yard line.

 

Clevenger called timeout and gave his team its instructions.

 

“We told our guys, let them score,” he said. “They were on the five yard line, we hadn’t stopped them all night and we were up six. I said we’re going to let them score and then we’ve got to stop the two-point, and at worst we’re playing in overtime. But I said I don’t think they can stop us if they do that. Obviously Zach made a good throw, Brennen made a good catch and it worked out for us.”

 

Perry regretted that he didn’t take a knee with the ball on the Danville five yard line and under two minutes to play.

 

“I almost took a knee down here, I wish I had and just make it a two-play or one-play game,” he said. “We just don’t match up speed wise, it is what it is. The kids played their hearts out and I thought they executed very well.”
