September 20, 20188 yr Which new coach off to a bad start will be able to get it turned around the fastest?
September 20, 20188 yr Author Taggert has the easiest path. The talent is already there, they are in a fertile recruiting ground. The biggest question is actually Taggert. Frost has the toughest test. He’s in a recruiting desert. No recent history of success. Of the 3 though, Frost may be the best coach. The answer to me is Chip Kelly. Proven winner. Fertile recruiting ground. Expectations from fan base are minimal. In the worst division in the power 5. Taggert has to play Clemson every year and Frost just doesn’t have the talent, yet.
September 20, 20188 yr IMO, Kelly will get things going faster than anyone probably. As far as Taggert goes, it almost seems like the writing is on the wall that he’s not going to last long, which could change. Frost is obviously off to a rough start, but I don’t think that it’s too surprising with what he came in to. With time, I look for him to have Nebraska playing far better than they are. As far as recruiting advantages go, that definitely favors Kelly and Taggert more.
September 20, 20188 yr FSU is going to be bad as long as their offensive line is bad. Nebraska I think will be good but it’ll take 2-3 years. I think Kelly at UCLA will have them competing for a division title the soonest.
September 20, 20188 yr Frost. I agree. The path to lots of wins is much easier playing in the Big 10 West than where either of the other two are playing.

September 22, 20188 yr Frost will turn it around the fastest, the way things look he'll be the last one still coaching at his current school. I didn't like the Taggert hire when it happened, and the Noles continue to disappoint
October 14, 20188 yr As I saw that Nebraska fell to 0-6 for the first time ever with a loss today, I found myself remembering this thread. I'm still not certain what the answer is, and you'd like to think Nebraska won't move on so fast (especially with the buyout), but Frost ought to be careful.

Nebraska put themselves in a very tough position. Hard to blame it all on Frost, but this is probably beyond the worst possible scenario they could have imagined.
