Can Cooper stay in the game with Cov Cath?

Featured Replies

Need to change up the defense. We will keep getting beat over the top with two safeties pushed all the way forward.

That will be a tall order.

I’m going to guess the Cov Cath backups get in some good experience trying to run down that elusive QB.

If Cooper hangs around in this game it would be amazing.

Speaking of the elusive qb...why is he running back kicks? How long before an opposing coach sends a hit man down on a kickoff to get him out of the game?

I didn't realize Coach Borchers has Jeremiah Lee returning kicks. Just theorizing, but I would guess that probably either has to do with a lack of players who are able to field a kick without muffing it, or just a matter of a coach putting the best suited athlete in at each position when and where they are needed.

Fortunately, I think we're in a situation where most coaches in this day and age are not cut from the type of cloth to where they're trying to train a teenage athlete to be a "hit man" intent on injuring another player...but I still get the sentiment of not understanding why a coach would put the lynchpin of his whole offense into the game on the most statistically dangerous plays of the game when they need not necessarily be in there.

Jeff Wera played DE and QB.

Wera played at Beechwood. 1A schools have to play iron man football simply as a product of roster size. Cooper is 5A playing in 6A. Shouldn't they have a bigger roster to draw from than Beechwood?

Also I'd say d-end is vastly different from an injury standpoint from a return specialist.

Sorry to say but UGLY!

Do you really believe coaches have goon squads whose purpose is to knock specific players out the game, and implement and practice that as part of the game plan?

It will be very tough to stay close, when there is a running clock :ohbrother:

Doubt very much that a coach would risk his job like that. In this day of social media it would not take long for a teenager to brag about it.

Squads no, one or two players than can count on to deliver a "legal blow" to the same effect, yep some do.

They have a chance. If cooper coaches actually use there safeties

Having guys who have the ability to deliver clean, legal, hard hits is one thing. Game planning to purposely knock a player out of game is what I’m referring to. If coaches are still doing that, I’d be extremely disappointed.
