I thought I just read that Texas is 4? No?

But I think that Michigan struggled because they were playing a little shorthanded and looking ahead to OSU.

Looking 3 weeks ahead?

Texas is at the 7 spot.

Top 10:

1- Ohio State

2- Michigan

3- WV

4- Florida

5- Louisville

6- Auburn

7- Texas

8- USC

9- Notre Dame

10- Cal

Looking 3 weeks ahead?
Ohio State remained No. 1 in the standings, and the excitement of the Nov. 18 meeting continues to build.

"I guess you have to deal with it," Michigan running back Mike Hart said. "Everyone is talking about Ohio State, Ohio State. We know we have games before then. Obviously, that's the big one, but we have three more games."

Michigan's three opponents -- Northwestern, Ball State and Indiana -- before Ohio State are a combined 8-16. A major upset from any of those teams seems unlikely, but the Wolverines aren't looking ahead.

"We don't live in a vacuum," coach Lloyd Carr said after Michigan's 20-6 win over Iowa last Saturday. "We know what's out there, and it's exciting to be there. We won't deny that. But the job isn't finished." Nortwestern-Michigan Preview

I still think its possible for this to be first of two this season.

Things are looking great for the winner of the WVU / UL game. Whoever wins will have to beat two Top 12 BCS teams in the next few weeks......their SOS looks to be much stronger than any of the 1 loss teams....things look very bright, and I want to commend Mike Tranghese for end loading this season, so the Big East could get so much darned exposure.

I don't.....unless the OSU/UM goes to triple overtime or something like that. Otherwise, whichever one loses, will get voted to #3, IMO....and that will set up a #1 -vs- #2 BCS...with the winner of OSU/Mich & UL/WVU.

I have not checked but aren't 1 and 2 significantly ahead of the rest of the field? If so, I'm not sure a loss in of and by itself will automatically preclude a rematch.

The Big East schedule is extremely slanted toward the end of the season. The top four teams are Pittsburgh, Louisville, Rutgers and West Virginia and between them, only Pittsburgh and Rutgers have played; all will play each other during the month of November. If there is an undefeated team coming out of the Big East, the big points to be gained in the BCS rankings have yet to come.

UL or WVU will make a jump here.........

But if either wins out, I could see them being left out of the NC game. :irked:

I don't see how anyone in numbers 6-10, with the exception of Auburn can be ranked ahead of Tennessee, especially Cal.

1, 2, & 3 are significantly ahead of the field.

OSU, Michigan, & WVU.

LOL!!! I like WV, but they are not "significantly ahead" of anyone in the top 25 teams...

OSU or Michigan will drop. Cards beat Neers and run the table. Man its for the taking. Go Cards.

Remember that that same gap applied last week with USC as well. Now I know that they lost to an unranked team, BUT they dropped to 8 or so....a loss my Michigan assures the drop, OSU as well, IMO.
