Coach Bob Beatty: KY Sports Hall of Famer

Featured Replies

Trinity Coach Bob Beatty was inducted into KY Sports Hall of Fame yesterday evening. Congrats to him!

Congrats to Coach Beatty! More than deserved.

There's a good article in the Courier about him today.

Very well deserved. For all of the great coaches at Trinity (and there's been a ton), Beatty is the first to take Trinity from a state power to a national power. Congratulations! :thumb:

Way to go Coach. GO Rocks!!!!!!

Awesome honor for Coach Beatty! He joins Coach Lampley who was inducted into the hall last year.

In addition to Coach Beatty, this year's KY Hall Of Fame class was:

Bob Baffert - Thoroughbred trainer who trained Triple Crown winners American Pharoah and Justify, as well as Kentucky Derby winning horses Silver Charm, Real Quiet and War Emblem.

Sam Ball - Super Bowl winning offensive lineman from Henderson who played for UK and the Baltimore Colts.

Bernie Bickerstaff - NBA basketball coach from Harlan County who has served as head coach for the Seattle Sonics, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Bobcats. He's currently in the front office for the LA Lakers.

Nicky Hayden - A professional motorcycle racer from Owensboro who won the MotoGP World Championship in 2006 and is a member of the American Motorcyclist Association's Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He died following a wreck in May 2017.

Ken and Sarah Ramsey - Thoroughbred owners who hold the record at Churchill Downs record for most leading owner titles (28) as well as the record at Keeneland (18). They have had 7 horses race in the Kentucky Derby, but no winners as of yet.

Congrats Coach Beatty!

Ha! I was about to do the same thing. Seems like a very good list there. In fact, wonder if there's not more football guys in there than hoops?

Although a couple were in for playing careers mostly...

Still what a list and congrats coach Beatty!
