He went to drop his son off at her clubhouse, which they agreed too. She wasn’t there, he took his son to her place and she had her phone out taking pictures of him on her property. He did not disclose this to Meyer, against his lawyers advice.

 

That case is still open. Zach Smith is set to appear in court Aug. 22 for a hearing associated with the criminal trespassing charge.

If Urban Meyer is telling the truth (and we don't have proof that he's lying) about reporting it, in 2015, then whomever he reported it too or was put in charge of the investigation should be fired. If the school never contacted the alleged victim of DV by one of their coaches then someone in the loop of that investigation dropped the ball.

 

Urban will not and should not lose his job if he did report it in 2015. Was it poor choice keeping ZS if he thought he was beating his wife, yep. If he reported it though that is Urban's get out of jail free card...someone above him dropped the ball.

So much misinformation, but charges were filed against him in 2018 for criminal trespassing. When that information came out is when Urban fired him. JA outlines the details of that in post 64. I’m not sure if there was an arrest, just charges filed.

Going back to Tom Herman. I think the main idea here is that he allegedly wanted to get back at Zach Smith. Who as we all know was the WR coach at OSU and single handedly helped land the biggest recruit from the state of Texas in the 2019 class in 5 Star receiver from Austin, Garrett Wilson. Urban and OSU specifically had been coming in to Texas and beating out UT for numerous players in recent years. Most notably JK Dobbins, Jeffrey Okudah, and now Garrett Wilson. They also landed Wilson’s HS QB from in the 2018 class Matthew Baldwin who was not as highly touted as the other 3 guys I named, but someone Texas definitely had eyes on being in Austin. The fact that Herman knew about the issues with Zach and Zach’s involvement with Wilson being a big key to his commitment is the motive for why Herman would just now came out with this information instead of earlier.

One thing to consider is there is another former OSU offensive coordinator on Herman’s Texas staff in Tim Beck who was at OSU when the Smith stuff happened in 2015. That would make more sense than Herman IMO. Beck was the guy who played a key role in locking down the state of Texas for OSU when he was there. Would make sense for him to try to end what he started.
