I'm not sure but I think the Holmes/Campbell game is still on. They have had a tarp on the field all week.

I can't believe it this long to call this game. Dixie kids were already on the bus ready to roll when they were notified. Just seems a little late IMO.

I was just getting to Union when announced... :irked:

 I want to see this game, but I sure didn't want to sit in the rain.

Thought this was football, what....they didn't want to get dirty. LOL

You'll have to take it up with the Ryle staff.

Ryle players were at the field house in uniform and taped up when the word came. I for one can't wait until tomorrow night. This will be a great game. Not too sure how the field will improve in 24 hours but at least we will be able to celebrate our seniors and have the opportunity to walk with them before the game.

With all the rain we had, they should have played tonight at Ryle or moved it to Dixie and kept the field unused untill the playoffs, provided they would win of course. To postphone the game and then still play it at Ryle tommorrow makes no sense. If they host in the playoffs it will be Campbell soup night. (Of course I don't think they'll win, so in my mind its just prolonging the inevitable. ) They could have made that decision before school let out today and saved both teams alot of agrivation.

Oh well, I'm going back to watching the CCH vs. HHS game. It's a good one too.

$$$ By moving it tomorrow night, they'll probably get a better gate, and we fans don't have to sit in the rain to enjoy what should be a very good game. Playing tomorrow night versus tonight doesn't really make a difference as far as the field goes. With the rain we've had the past two days, it's still going to be sloppy tomorrow night. I think money may have talked a little in this one, but either way, I'm happy.

Money is nice, but the big picture is the playoffs. We at Dixie know how important playing on a good surface in the playoffs is. with the playoff system the way it is, they are jeopardizing a state playoff appearance IMO by playing on the field and destroying it worse than it is prior to the playoffs.

You guys at Dixie know full well how a bad field can cost you in the playoffs.

I don't know if I buy that point or not though. Both teams have to play on the field, and it's not like either team is playing in those conditions day in, day out to really have an "advantage".

Take a running team, and a passing team. Put 'em on a field that is a mud pit and it's raining. I know where my money is going. Take the same teams and put them on turf, it's anybody's game, rain or not. Rain favors run, always has, always will. The timing is not the same in the mud and that kills a passing game.

I don't see the field being much better Saturday night than Friday night.
