Rebelstat
Alot of people don't realize that Boyle County's kicking game should be super strong. Special teams is extremely important and is rarely mentioned. @Country touched base on it a little bit but the freshman kicker coming in did make a 50+ yard field goal in 8th grade. This kid can kick it into the endzone every kickoff. Boyle County has been known for giving up kickoff return touchdowns to speedy teams. This will kicker will limit that to just the offense. @Country, I saw that there are over 6 lineman weighing in at over 280lbs. Do you happen to have a height listed for these kids? Thanks! This is going to be a fun season. The Freshman kicker made a 52 yard FG in the 8th grade state game and has made one from 54 yards in practice. Devin Wellman was an exceptional Punter and Austin Woolum was Mr. Consistency in the kicking game. In KY High School football, the kicking game may very well be a as much as a 10 point swing every game if you can do it well.

Those great teams in the 5 in a row run by Chuck had great kickers like Begley & Jennings that meant the difference in a lot of big time games. Boyle County's state championship run comes to mind when mentioning special teams. Field goal to win the semi's against Bell County 13-10 sending them to the state championship. Then a field goal as time expired to send the game into overtime ultimately resulting in the 2009 State Championship over Lone Oak. Boyle County has been fortunate to have good successful kickers over the years and that has been an important part to their success.

What a pair........
