I was in Minnesota working for two weeks last summer. Picked up a case of Spotted Cow in Wisconsin on the way. Found that those made real good shower beers. While that may answer the question posed in the opening post of this thread, I know that isn't much help since New Glarus doesn't distribute outside of Wisconsin.

 

I could see that being a great one.

I honestly have no experience with this, and though not exactly sure why, I am a bit intrigued by the idea, however my first hunch says to use good sense and drink from a can, and not a glass bottle or mug. Broken glass in the shower just sounds too much like trouble.

 

Almost always from a can for me for the exact reason you stated. On occasion, I've gone bottle.

I don't often buy it, but Summer Shandy is a great shower beer.

 

I like some light sour beers in the shower.

 

Anything that has a little fruit to it, like citrusy IPA (e.g. Rhinegeist Truth)

Used to do shower beers all the time in college, and up through my early 30’s. As others have said, after spending time working (or doing anything outside) a shower beer was often a good way to kick off a good night of drinking.

 

Nowadays, I rarely do a shower beer, not because I don’t enjoy it, but because I don’t drink nearly as much as I used to. I’m thinking one might be in my near future though.

When my wife and I met with the Design Center for building our new home back in February, I asked the lady what it would take to have a very tiny fridge installed in the back of the shower for my shower beers. She wasn't amused lol.

I had a shower beer tonight after working in the yard. I changed it up and went with a bud light lime that was on ice, pretty refreshing change of taste.

Shower Beers lead to more beers and then about 6 hours later shower coffee. :lol2:

Go out and mow the grass, or play a B-ball game on a hot day. Grab a cold beer out of the fridge and take a good hot shower.

 

The hot water feels so good and the cold beer is the best ever.

 

Think of it as pampering yourself - inside and out.

 

You only live once, and I have to admit that it's not something I would have ever come up with on my own, but it sounds harmless, and judging by the fans here of this ritual, it sounds to be worthy of a try (or you're all just making stuff up to see who will buy into it by conducting a secret experiment to see if strength in numbers can provoke unsuspecting onlookers to follow the gag by believing that it's a real thing). :sssh:

 

A couple things I do however after coming in from working out on a hot day is take a couple good swigs of cold pickle juice that I keep refrigerated in a bottle. Though this may sound unappetizing under normal circumstances, when you're thirsty and extremely hot from upper 80's temps or higher, it doesn't seem nearly as repulsive and is actually quite refreshing and invigorating. The purported benefits is that it's good for any muscle strain or cramping, healthy for your kidneys, and helps to reintroduce healthy salts into your system lost from profuse sweating.

 

The other thing that I find extremely refreshing after a workout in extreme warm temps, (though I'm not terribly wild about ingesting artificial sweeteners), is an ice cold can of Arnold Palmer Zero. It's a super light version of the traditional Ice Tea/Lemonaide Arnold Palmer, but leaves no thick sugary buildup in your saliva, so it goes down clean and refreshing, and while straight up cold water is just fine and dandy, this offers a bit of an extra treat on those extremely hot sweltering summer days.

Not a shower beer but yesterday I think I had the most refreshing beer I have ever had. Didn't get any beer for my golf league while playing but had one afterwards and it hit the spot! A nice cold bud light.

This thread has corrupted me, I just had my first shower beer in years and it went down quick.

Got my boss and a couple colleagues to try shower beers, and the success rate is near 100%
