TAC
Not that much. Few need special services and most could participate in higher level classes. Public education could accept privates fairly easily. UMM, OK! I’ll take your word for it.
tcjkbt
And they would have to hire more teachers, more staff and build additional classrooms or do split sessions like Campbell county did in the late 70's. Where would that funding come from? I think the funding would come from increased tax rates on real estate. I think that is where the great majority of educational funding comes from. barrel
Buddy drives a bus for a county school. He is busy this weekend. Kings island tomorrow zoo on Sunday. Who pays for that? Who is going? That in part determines who and how it is paid. Going rate is .50 a mile pretty much though hourly wage would very some.
ukcatfan17
UMM, OK! I’ll take your word for it. Pretty much any student who comes to a public school has to be accepted as long as vaccination records, etc are up to date. Shoot, due to the (excuse my spelling on this one) McKinny - Vento law, if a student is considered homeless and the family moves out of your district, even if they move in with a relative such as a grandparent, the original school still has to allow them to attend...they do not have to go to the school they should attend in the new district. AND that district may be required to transport them all the way to the original school. Think of a school bus traveling across multiple districts to pick up 1 or a few kids..... plantmanky
Something I haven't seen posted here yet is: Do the educators realize that the money isnt there to fund education the way it was? Do they realize that in order to keep the funding the way it was, funding has to be cut somewhere else? Do they realized there is only so much funding to go around? I think that is getting lost in all this. I know they are focused on what specifically hits them (understandable), but do they see the full picture in this? Talk of legalizing pot/hemp, or casinos could be a great solution, but that would take years to implement, the problem is now. The State has to do something NOW. We need NOW solutions, I know the educators dont like what was proposed, and you know what, I can agree with them that they are drastic in nature, but what are the educators solutions to the issue? I havent heard the educators suggestion anything other than, leave it the way it was. That is simply not an option. These are the educators of our children and the only option they can come up with is "leave it the way it was". Really?

Hatz
Field trips! He said he thinks the kids pay for the excursion, but the county pays him to drive? Sound right? I don’t know about this instance. When our Band wento competitions buses and drivers were paid out of Band funds, most of which were Boosters. In my wife’s school the PTO pays for the Field Trip. barrel
Field trips! He said he thinks the kids pay for the excursion, but the county pays him to drive? Sound right? I understand they are field trips. If it is the band then band boosters typically pay for it. If it is choir then they typically fund raise. PTT at times pays. Sometimes the students pay a fee. Does that answer your question? Not sure the need for the !

Pretty self explanatory. Sorry you are so sensitive to the explanation mark. So many times underprivileged children can’t afford to go on these trips if they have to pay? You saying “field trips!” Doesn’t explain who is going on the trip which is what I asked. Your statement named a destination not a who or why. So it is not self explanatory. Many times depending on where you are taking students the destination provides help and in some cases business chip in. As far as being sensitive to the explanation mark goes. It comes across as either yelling, as if someone is not comprehending the words or statement. Why use one?

Not sure of the purpose. I’m guessing a trip to kings island is for the architecture class or to go ride the rides? FYI, never knew ! Are considered yelling. Always thought in type, IF EVERYTHING IS IN CAPS that is considered yelling. Lol.
barrel
I know an older guy that does a lot of typing in all caps. It’s pretty funny because it does come across as yelling lol. Kings Island is often a reward and few times they perform there. It’s a pretty cliche thing for band and chorus groups. It’s a pain the champerogn.
