April 6, 20188 yr My picks before the start were Rose and Phil. Both still in it, but not setting the world on fire.
April 6, 20188 yr Does it matter how many shots Spieth is up until he steps on the tee at 12 on Sunday? That place just has some holes that will stick with you until you conquer them on Sunday. Same thing with Rory. If he makes a run tomorrow and Saturday it won’t matter to me until he hits his tee shot in bounds on 10. I liked what I heard from Spieth after his round yesterday. More or less it was "I know better than anybody else here, that no lead is safe." He wasn't shying away from the fact that he crumbled, but it also didn't sound like he was focusing on it either. He just gave me the impression that he's moved on.

Spieth is one of the most mentally strong golfers I’ve ever seen. What he did at the Open last year is proof of that. I think he definitely has moved on, but I think it’s next to impossible for the thought to not pop up in his head on Sunday if he’s in contention going into 12. I could easily see him pulling a 9 iron then putting it back and saying let’s hit an 8 just in case. Haha
April 6, 20188 yr Freddie Couples looks like he's in a lot of pain out there....Then I see this.... Eamon Lynch @eamonlynch Talked to a coach at Augusta National earlier. "This could seriously be Freddie's last ever golf event," he said. "He could barely stand up on the range today."
April 6, 20188 yr Author 96 to the hole on 2nd shot 1st hole. Likely going to bogey. Can't have that.
April 7, 20188 yr What will CBS ratings be today now that Tiger and Phil have completed their third rounds before the broadcast even starts?
April 7, 20188 yr I would love to have seen Tiger in contention, but we have a really good golf tournament going on. Reed, Fowler, McIlroy, Spieth, Thomas, Rahm, DJ. These are the best players in the world right now and they are all in contention. This is going to be a great weekend.

"This could seriously be Freddie's last ever golf event," he said. "He could barely stand up on the range today." Watched CBS sports coverage this morning of the practice range. Freddie was hitting balls and was in obvious pain. I was shocked he even played today.
April 7, 20188 yr Rory has caught fire Yes Rory is doing well today. Patrick Reed is tearing it up with his 2nd eagle of the day.
April 8, 20188 yr Course was there for the taking today. Reed and McIlroy both made lucky/crazy eagles today.
April 8, 20188 yr Reed vs Rory. Outside of Tiger or Phil being in contention I’m not sure I could have asked for a better final pairing. Love watching these two guys play. They aren’t robots, they have personalities, they are everything that is good about the game of golf right now. Then Fowler and Rahm are both capable of going super low as well. Tomorrow is going to be a blast.
