Madison Central at Lincoln County

As much of a Pat fan I am...I don't see this being a blowout either way...both teams are too talented and too well coached to let that happen...

Lincoln County 21, Madison Central 14

But here's my upset pick: Lincoln gets knocked off by Montgomery County in the playoff opener. Shaky quarterback play in Stanford has made me question the Patriots all season and it will kill them in the postseason.

Mr. Network, Modok, etc......Please don't hold me to this pick if Lincoln makes a run to the final four!:D

Hows Chaz Hope's play been this year?

LC played MC very tough last year, without Miller. And with Calhoun getting hurt in the thrid quarter.

MC has never been to Death Valley, and Pats have played well all year. They are a couple turnovers away from being undefeated.

I say LC squeaks it out, and gets the one seed.

Glad to see you back LCPATS, where have you been? I tried to PM you but your box is full.

Wow, DRGFRFL... your insight on the upcoming game is uncanny to say the least; You must have known GRC lost several key players the week mc squeaked by for the win, also you must not have been impressed with mc`s win over Whitley.....2pts? But, I must admit , as I`m sure you will agree, they played Montgomery tough.:thumb:

I think your 30 is about right.:ylsuper: go PATS....

gchs uk9 get on the patriot train!

Congratulations to the SR`s of Lincoln Co. 12 of the best football players in district 8 and 12 of the best examples of young men I have ever met! When you walk out on the field Friday night, know that you 12 have been keys to, not just this great season , but the rebuilding process over the past several years!!!!:thumb:

p.s. ...YOU AINT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!:ylsuper:

I am taking LC because they are playing the most consistant right now. Don't mean a upset of MC couldn't happen.

Good Luck to both teams, congrats to LC for surprising everyone.

LC 35

MC 27

Sounds like the weather is going to be terrible Friday night. Who does that help in this match-up?

I would say LC will (if they play again) beat Montgomery by 4-5 td's if they meet if the opening round.

LC had five turnovers. Two inside the Montgomery redzone, and on the three yard line going in to score.

I really felt like LC played horribly and won by 18 last Friday.

If MC wins I wouldn't call it a upset...

Wow,what a game this is going to be,bad weather or not, who plays the best defense will win this one. My heart says Lincoln Co, but my head says Madison Cent. The game is at Lincoln Co.,so I'm going with the home team, taking nothing away from Madison Cent. if the game was there I would pick them to win.A low scoring game 14-7.

What has happened? The last time I checked 6-3 isn't bad. The Indians aren't dominating the district like they have been, but the district is much improved from where it was. MC has still only lost 2 district games since the end of the 2001 season. As for this year:

They lost in Double overtime at Tates Creek.

They got beat by a much improved Montgomery County team 26-21 and were driving to score at the end of the game when some questionable penalties killed them.

They got beat at Highlands by one of the best teams in the state.

I don't think the program has fallen off by any means. It takes time for young, inexpienced players to get accustomed to varsity action and losing 26 seniors didn't help the cause either. They are peaking at the right time.

I'm not sure they were driving for the winning score against Montgomery. After the kickoff, I don't think they gained a yard and was sacked twice by Montgomery to finish the game off.

Call it what you want to, but I was just responding to someone saying Lincoln "was a few turnovers away from being undefeated." If we are going to go by that, MC is a "few plays" from being 9-1. No one is trying to gain any moral victories here, I was just stating the facts about previous games.

The bottom line is, Central is 6-3 and Lincoln is 8-1 and the winner gets the #1 seed. MC has struggled at times this year, but they are playing good football right now and I look for this game to be close, at least for one half, again.:sssh:

If Warford or Skipple wouldve went down last year the game mightve went in the opposite direction...thats the equivalent of losing Calhoun, isnt it?
