I am happy he was located and dealt with quickly before he could hurt anyone else.

Read another post on Facebook (again, not sure of it's accuracy) that said the coward shot the officer in front of his wife and kid(s)? My goodness.

I'd heard the same thing.

I'm assuming the suspect was killed? Prayers to the officers family.

I can't imagine their pain. There are no words.

These things are too tragic and awful for me to grasp. I just do not understand it.

Same here.

Suspect had been indicted in three counties for drug trafficking and weapon charges. Has had multiple probation violation charges during that time. Was sentenced to 29 years in prison but because he was considered a "non-violent" offender, he was sent to a halfway house in Louisville. When he violated those terms and knew prison was likely in his future, he walked away last month never to return. There was an active warrant for him.

It's another example of lawmakers changing the justice system in order to save a buck. This "non-violent offender" should have been in jail this week from THREE prior cases and was let out to continually break the law and sadly, take a life.

If the justice system isn't going to enforce prison time and send them back to jail when they violate terms of probation and parole, just do away with it.

Saw an article that confirmed the officer was murdered with his wife and young daughter in the car.

Horrible.

This guy was clearly the lowest of the low and needed to be serving his time out in prison. Thankfully, police in Clarksville, TN stopped him before he could kill someone else.
