March 20, 20188 yr Good win for the Tops. On to face Oklahoma State in the Elite Eight Wednesday night, 7PM CT (ESPN2).
March 20, 20188 yr Quarterfinal game at Oklahoma State Wednesday night. Very winnable, although you have to wonder if fatigue will play a part, having flown to LA and then coming to Stillwater on the way back home. Plus, Oklahoma State has been at home the entire tournament. Here's hoping the Tops can get the win and head to Madison Square Garden!
March 20, 20188 yr By the way, pretty strong set of quarterfinalists for the NIT this year: -Penn State/Marquette -Louisville/Mississippi State -Oklahoma State/WKU -St. Mary's/Utah
March 20, 20188 yr I was looking up the game report on the internet and noticed that the attendance was 2,130. Isn't that kind of sad if you're Southern Cal?
March 20, 20188 yr Bill Walton was in true Waltonese form during the broadcast. “Johnson scores a 3....and the folks in beautiful Mammoth Cave region, the largest cave system in the world, are happy with that”. ”Hollingsworth drives and scores. And that reminds me of the great Hilltopper teams of the late ‘60s with big Jim McDaniel, who by the way, won their way to the Final Four on the same day Dylan released his classic album.” Lol. I don’t have it verbatim but it was like that all night long. He mentioned the Daniel Boone National Forest and it’s beauty, asked coal areas to switch to solar panel houses...the thing of the future, mentioned horses, Bluegrass, Adolph Rupp responsible for speeding up the game, etc
March 21, 20188 yr Author I was looking up the game report on the internet and noticed that the attendance was 2,130. Isn't that kind of sad if you're Southern Cal? Yeah pretty sad. Probably 25% of the crowd were WKU fans from the LA area, including a couple NFL players and the family of the recently departed Jim McDaniels. OKState tomorrow night will be completely different. They seem really hype about WKU coming to town and are expecting one of their best crowds of the year.
