Who passes out the credibility on this board? If someone doesn't agree with you and yours they have no credibility. Some body got dumped on when Ty Profitt made it with out being on THE LIST. So maybe we shouldn't put much credibility in Smith and Street or Street and Smith or what ever. Some body saw him and forgot to read the list. :lol:

And I don't care how you divided it or mutiply it or add it, Ty Profit is going BIG time. I never saw any body try to compare big and little and make it come out the same.

Many differing levels of D1 play and many different types of players. Anytime a player can receive an athletic scholarship, to play D1 intercollegiate athletics and he's from Kentucky, I'm extremely happy for him.

 

Coaches evaluate talent differently, as most of us fans do. They look for needs and roles on their team, as opposed to comparing to others players from within the state.

 

Centers are recruited to play defense and provide post play. Point guards, to run an offense, etc....Its about need for that program and not, whom we perceive to be the best or which conference, is stronger.

 

I say, congratulations to the names mentioned and I hope, more Kentucky high school players, get the accolades and exposure they deserve.

I believe their is a college out their at some level, for most Seniors with ability to continue their education and play intercollegiate athletics. One of my goals, is to help that happen. Too many Divisions are available and the player/school, have to be matched together.

I think that McDavid is the best in the region. Just because people transfer and play AAU all year around to get exposure doesnt make them the best player. I would say that everyone of you guys will think that I am crazy but I will take a kid that produces 20 points and 10 rebounds a night - every night- than a kid that my score 30 points one night and 12 the next.

Drew is a very good player but he did not avg. 20 and 10 last year.BTW I don't think you are crazy but after watching both teams play several times last year I felt Ashland ran more "stuff" for Drew than Russell did for Jonathan.

Drew Mcdavid is a very good basketball player. Very well rounded, probably even more well rounded than VanHoose but I think Jonathan's size and his shot is what intrigues everyone. Drew should get more pub than he does. He's a joy to watch play.

As for offense, Ashland ran one - Russell didnt . It was more like watching streetball.

Well, glad you gave us your unbiased opinion, Drew is a great kid and a very good basketball player, but being buried in the post the last 2 years pretty much drove him to a career in football, so where is he getting offers to play basketball at?

Different styles, different positions. But in the end the 6'4 guard wins out over the 6'3" post player. Maybe a new system will change this.

I wonder if he'll be planted in the paint similar to last year now that he's under the new regime. I watched them play several times and he always played with his back to the basket, I wonder if his role will be different in the new offense?
