Who are some of the play makers from both teams?

Who is the guy to run behind?

Travis Alford is one of the hardist hitters i've seen in a long time. Conner better run their offense away from him

Alford, I have heard that name befor another Newport boy playing some where else. Didnt he play with NFF.

I seen him put a shot on a kid man he is an animal on the field you are right they better run away from him they will be sorry if they run at him.

I believe there have been a few Birds players who have opted to play for the NFF... Guidugli the soph. was one of them. Some also play for the RedDevils. But you are correct, the Alford name is definitely synonymous with Newport. I am hoping to get a pass for this game from the wif..hope the weather is decent.

Yes, I think he did play for NFF. but he does live in FT. Thomas. I think he went to a catholic grade school.

With the new rule changes, you will see a lot of kids from the surrounding Catholic schools entering Highlands as 7th graders next year, should be interesting from an athletic point of view to see who you may have thought would continue on to NCC/Brossart, etc....may be some surprises...

The "rule change" was only passed by the BOC. Proposal 2 still has to be approved by the state school board. So it isn't set in stone just yet.

Also, I would imagine that if it is passed there will be some sort of "grace" period. So lets say someone that is going to be a 7th grader next year will not be affected by the new rule. I'm sure they wouldn't implement it for a couple years so families could plan.

Thanks for the clarification Henry...makes sense.

Are you sure? I believe he lives in Southgate and attended Southgate schools. Since Southgate does not have a high school, I believe the school district pays a certain amount to attend Newport, Highlands, or Campbell Co. Most choose Newport since the amount the Southgate school district pays covers the entire cost for Newport. If the student chooses to attend Highlands or Campbell Co they have to pay the difference not covered by the Southgate school district.

He lives down the street from me in Ft. Thomas.

I agree. My guess is that at the very least, kids entering 7th grade next year will be exempt should this asinine rule pass.

You better be able to run from the entire HHS defense. All those kids can get to the ball in a hurry.

Everything starts up front with Schlosser #62, Brown #56, Beck #61 and Dierig #55. If you manage to get past them, Roller #82 and Bankamper #34 will make you wish you didn't! The secondary with Rosie #11 and Bardo #3 will come up and knock you.

Offensively they are a quick strike with tremendous speed. But they will drive the ball on you behind Schlosser and Brown.

Dang Henry, you have good scoop:banana: As I understand it, the BOC recommended implementation for the 08-09 athletic year in order to give parents enough forewarning. However, the State Board of Education has final say as to when it goes into effect (assuming of course they even approve Proposal 2 and it passes judicial review).

I expect this to be a very good and very hard hitting game. Conner wants revenge and the Birds want to prove their narrow victory wasn't a fluke. The Birds feel they are a two touchdown better team than Conner and want to prove it to all of N. Ky. Both teams have some very good athletes and very good coaching. Go Birds.
