Admirals off-week, what do they do??

Featured Replies

Danville will do what a perennial State power does....look ahead. Danville will win Class A State. Period, end of story. The loss to Frankfort will be a key reason they will do so.

Well, I guess we'll see. You've got Danville, I've got the field.

Actually, that's a quote I've heard a few times and it seems to make sense.

Take it from someone who has not only played Danville a couple of times during his high school career in the state finals back in 2A...but also have had the fortune of calling some great Danville-Mayfield matchups...do not count out the ADS no matter what has happened in the last week. Anyone that jumps off the bandwagon of the ADS does not apparently know football or the legacy of Danville and Coach Harp. Trust me..no one down here in the western part of the state has any doubts that the ADS will bounce back and make a strong showing in the playoffs...my money is still on Danville to at least make it to the third round...no disrespect to the other teams up there...but until someone knocks off Danville in the POST-season then they are still the team to beat.

Remember the old saying:

"It is easier to knock off the king of the mountain than it is to stay there"

And now that Danville has been knocked off a little...it is there turn to reclaim the top spot of that portion of the mountain.

No disrespect to anyone on here, but I have a son who is an Army Ranger and he has been to war and probably will again. These are high school football games we're talking about. I understand the analogy, but it's a little overplayed in my humble opinion.

Yea, I think you need to explain. 13 points is the least Danville has scored all year, their closest performance... 33. You are averaging 50 points a game against some pretty good teams even after including this game. Before this game you were averaging 54.6. Unless there is some serious unrest in Admiral Country concerning Coach Harp, I think this is just another case of panic. You have only lost one game, calm down boss.

Tell me this.........how can Danville not score on teams with equal or more speed. The teams they put up alot of points on.....they have the far better athletes. When it comes to teams with speed.......Frankfort/Bardstown what happens. I think they need to evaluate how you approach teams like these two is all I am saying. As for calming down I believe I was the calmest Admiral fan walking out. I stated to many furious Ads fans that Danville CAN and probally will beat Frankfort in three weeks if they really want too!

I don't think that SPEED is what is being underestimated. I think that what is being underestimated is looking at the teams with speed and assuming they also cannot hit and play physical. Last year before the Bardstown game all we heard about was how soft Bardstown was, fast, but soft. That was wrong, and that may have been the case with Frankfort last Friday night.

However, having watched Danville come back from a 29-13 halftime deficit against Bardstown in 2000 (where Bardstown was pounding them), and Harp making a complete alteration of his offensive and defensive schemes, I can say that both Danville and Coach Harp have the ability to re-adjust both scheme and attitude in times of adversity. I think they will do it here.

I hope so. I will agree that the toughness and speed hurt Danville. Although last year against Bardstown they did run the ball well between the tackles......but fumbled alot!

One thing you don't do is panic! Just do what you do, but do it harder. It aint over yet!

GO ADS !!!

Click off the cruise control and PUT THE HAMMER DOWN.

I don't know if the Ads can beat the panthers or not. Frankfort looked really good to me the other night. However, How could anyone in their right mind second guess what Sam Harp has done. Give me a break.

What do they do?

First, they watch film from the Frankfort game til they are blue in the face and can tell each coach every single assignment that was missed and how to correct it. Then, with their knowledge of missed assignments, they hit the field to get drilled over and over on how not to make the same mistake. Once the assignment becomes a HABIT, then they start focusing on their next game (this will come next Monday) and the coaches continue to prepare the Ads not just for their upcoming challenge, but by working in challenges that double over on those same missed assignments from the Frankfort game. Then come Wednesday or Thursday the ads relax and refocus their attention on the fact that they are one of the elite programs in all of Kentucky and Frankfort may have done them the biggest favor possible.
