He didn’t get clean looks in the second half. The sooner SK fans/parents get off of their imagined high perch, the sooner the SK kids will buy in the way Coach Jones’s kids do. SK girls have won the 8th a few times since 2007, and yes, Coach Stowers does a good job. But, he has won the 8th when he has had the most talent. SK boys might have had the most talent in 2007, but they lost to a good Oldham County team in the finals. Other than that, SK has not had the most talent in the 8th.

Also, really tired of the LAZY NARRATIVE that GC is void of talent at all times. Coach Jones gets them to buy in.

Gallatin's players are historically under rated. Coomer and Rassman start for everyone in the region. Any coach would love to have Beatty. He is just rock solid on D and O. Bowen plays as hard as any kid in the region and he has offensive skills. Are they short? Yes, but they have basketball skill.

A big factor in the game was the offensive production from Wyatt Bowen and Jarin Rassman.

Bowen averages 7.1 ppg and scored 17 while Rassman (5..0) scored 13.

Went back and looked at the region statistics for Simon Kenton in their 13 years of being in the 8th region. While Simon Kenton is the largest school by a good bit in the 8th region. (only 6A School) They have in those 13 years played for the regional title 3 times (not bad) however losing all 3. But what is really amazing I think the other 10 years they have on advanced past the opening round 1 time in 2013 losing in the semis. In 2017 they lost to Walton-Verona in the opening round of the 32nd district. So that leaves the Pioneers in the other 8 years of being in the 8th region 8 losses in the opening round (that is bad).

They have been pretty successful in Football no state titles in the last 6 years but their record is 67-12 and most years won 2-3 playoff games not bad especially in 6A.

Until SK football plays teams of equal size on the other side of the river I don’t care! I’LL HANG UP AND LISTEN!

This is a basketball thread, not a football thread, but I will take the bait. There are no moral victories for scoring points. SK football is very good, but they need to continue to raise their bar to compete with X and Trinity. As far as basketball, they are good but not elite. They typically split with WV and they are an A school. They win more than they lose against Gallatin but they tend to lose the big games, another A school. I am not looking to bash SK, but I think some of their fans over value their stock.
