The kid in Marshall Co didn't use a rifle. What do we their parents?

Right. So why is it an issue for Dick's to disagree with other companies who do things differently?

I can only speak for me. As I've said I don't care what Dick's does or doesn't sell. I do care that they are calling for bans. That I will not agree with and I will call them out for.

They are very different than a modern handgun. The velocity of the bullet coming out of an AR-15 is much greater. Emergency room doctors will tell you that high velocity weapons, such as an AR-15 totally destroy organs. Normally, the bullet from a handgun makes a linear path that can easily be seen in the diagnostics process. This makes locating the bullet and repairing the organ possible. With the high velocity weapons, there is so much force that it causes a wave effect upon entering the body and just decimates an organ and even some surrounding organs. As such, there is no repair.

 

I would disagree with your statement. The military wants to injure the solder so it takes 3 out of combat. I’d take my chances on getting hit with a .223 round from an AR versus a hollow point .44 mag pistol that mushrooms upon impact.

Right, and banning semi auto rifles doesn't make them safer.

So it's okay for the NRA to lobby but not Dick's?

I didn't say that. But I'm going voice my opinion about it and I'm going to pile on to Dick's for it. Not to mention they are complete hypocrites. They will continue to sell gun that would do as much in not more damage if a kid walked into a school with it. Raising the age to 21 means what? It's an empty gesture that panders to the scared.

Because when a company makes a decision like this people will voice their opinions. It's who we are. If we disagree with someone we make it known.

My comment wasn't about people disagreeing with the NRA, its about people blaming the NRA for what happens or the inaction of law makers. Disagree all you want but your original post was blaming them for lack of solution.

And the NRA’s positions are pandering...just to those who are scared of losing their 2nd amendment rights, which is a far more remote possibility than another school shooting.

So in short, you only have an issue with Dick's lobbying because you don't agree with the message they are pushing. If they were advocating for more guns, you wouldn't care that they were lobbying.

I do blame them for not offering solutions. I will pile on to hem for the same reasons you’ll pile on to Dick’s

I see where Walmart is now jumping on board with the 21 age to buy guns and ammo.

The desired effect is the AR will no longer be used in these mass shootings. It won't stop them from happening. The next shooter uses a shotgun or pistols. I don't think the kid in Marshall County used an AR did he? Didn't he just have some hand guns? The kids at Columbine didn't use AR's. Mostly used hand guns.

 

My point is not having AR's changes nothing.

I mean, if you really think about it, they're absolutely culpable. They funnel millions of dollars to the lawmakers to sit on their hands when any gun issue comes to the forefront.
