Again, I will be interested in seeing how the gun manufacturers react to their public position of a ban. I know if I ran a company like Remington I would cut ties with them.

For the eleventy billionth time... Nobody thinks limiting the sale of the weapons is going to completely stop them from being used. Has anybody ever said they believed that? Your argument sounds like "If we can't stop them all from happening, no point in trying to stop any of them."

They are a gun rights organization, of course they lobby for gun rights. What measure would you have that would make it more difficult for the Florida shooter to get a gun? Age limit of 21? Fine, then we as a country have to change thinking and move the age you are an adult to 21. That means voting, military, age to be charged as an adult for a crime, ect.... That's assuming everyone agrees those changes will make communities safer. Not everyone does.

He was reported over and over and over and the Sheriff's department and FBI missed it. What would stricter background checks have done? What would you change about current background checks?

I'd make background checks include mental health evaluations for starters. Everyone that interacted with this kid knew this was coming. No way he would've been cleared to purchase a weapon if that were part of the process.
