Thats Ok I'll pass. I'll just keep printing what you Ram Folks say. I guess JVs are on for Monday and Thursday for the freshmen. Should be a fun week. Who does X play...maybe they will get beat and really throw things up into the air? If we beat the Rams it will complete a "perfect regular season" which would be a nice ending for these Seniors having never lost as Freshmen, Sophomores, & Seniors.

Ah, Male/Manual Week. The Old Rivalry. Each day this week, I'll be updating my avatar with a historical photo and caption.

 

Manual, I hope you make a game of this. First, it makes the Rivalry healthier. Second, Male needs to gut out another game for 4 quarters to get ready for the playoffs. Their soft, early schedule has left them unaccustomed to playing a full 4 quarters.

I'll be attending my first Male game of the year, and my 10th consecutive Male/Manual game. Knowing I'll be in the stands will pump the Dawgs up and they will crush Manual!!! In all honesty, good luck to the Manual football team friday night. This rivalry is one of the best around, and is a big game for both teams this year. My prediction is Male 45-Manual 17. GO DAWGS!!!!

My personal prediction will be a little later in the week, but you can't convince me that this will be a blowout, not after the game Male had last week and wrapping up the #1 seed (in a three team tie, which is what would occur were Manual to win and X not have the letdown of the century against Butler, Male winds up on top) and the recent history of this series.

We have a head to head round house tie in district play. You go to district record, each team has 4 wins and 1 loss. Still tied!

 

What's the next determining factor for seeding in the playoffs? Is it the overall season record? If so; then the district still ends up like this

Male No. 1 @ 9 and 1

X No. 2 @ 8 and 2

Rams No. 3 @ 7 and 3

PRP No. 4 @ 6 and 4

 

So winning or loosing in the Male-Manual Rivalry game means nothing to either teams standings.

 

Therefore this game is 100% for PRIDE!

 

Pride and Emotion is a DANGEROUS, DANGEROUS thing!

 

Pride and Emotion, coupled with Male's hard fought BATTLE last week against X and what looks like on the surface a pretty easy win for Manual against Iroquois and BAM! There ya have it! An upset in the making!

The first factor for seeding is district record. It doesn't matter who beat who. Out of district record in and of itself is a non-factor. For a 3 way tie, you look at the points you accumulate from wins of defeated opponents to determine who is number one. Then you look at who beat who between the two remaining teams. X lost ground on the first place tiebraker with the 10 minute loss to Trinity, even though they played those top 3A teams. I haven't looked at it, but I would guess that those missing points would put Male ahead. It isn't inconceivable that X would actually stand above Male in those points, in which case X could be the 1st seed. Surely, someone reading this is up on the current point standings for R2D4 threeway tiebrakers.

And why? I was in Louisville recently and visiting one of the lovely restaurant's facilities downtown and saw an "Old Rivalry" sign with the H. Why is Male H? Are they that bad of spellers at Male?

I think this rivalry game is great for the schools and the community. The storied history is unmatched. It's fun to think of how crowds all those years ago stood and cheered for their team. I hope it's a great game this year... something tells me Male is still giddy from their win over X and Manual is getting better every week. A hot night for the Crimson QB and anything could happen!
