Come on yourself, Burton was not recruitted by Brooks, if you recall he breifly considered changing his commitment after Morris was let go. The others don't stack up, they may have been big recruits but what have they produced on the field.

After the first three, which are all Louisville kids and would have been virtually impossible for anyone else to land, I'm happier with our last. Actually I don't even know the last three.

Hunter Cantwell is our backup quarterback that no one else in Div 1 wanted. He played admirably in the time Brian Brohm is off. Earl Heyman is a starting DL who has been very productive, he even scored a TD as a freshman on a fumble recovery. Scott Kuhn is a TE from Northern KY who scored a TD last game and is seeing increased production.

Fidler, has he played?

Hunter Cantwell is our backup quarterback that no one else in Div 1 wanted. He played admirably in the time Brian Brohm is off. Earl Heyman is a starting DL who has been very productive, he even scored a TD as a freshman on a fumble recovery. Scott Kuhn is a TE from Northern KY who scored a TD last game and is seeing increased production.

I like the fact that Brooks and Petrino are trying to keep KY's best High School players at UK or U of L.

I dont know, maybe its because most of them are FRESHMAN? Peters will be studly. Minton will be very solid. Everybody knows Micah will be a BEAST. The guys you are talking about were recruited 3 and 4 years ago! Face it RRR, Kentucky has been outrecruiting UL in-state for the past 2 years, and that will continue this year! Like someone said earlier, NOBODY was getting Brohm or Bush EXCEPT for UL.

At the point your local recruits produce more than our local recruits then you can tell me UK is doing a better job instate recruiting.

 

Bush was NOT going to UofL if JLS was there, Pertrino had been recruiting him to play at Auburn, Bush also highly considered Ohio State. Brohm was seriously considering Notre Dame, UT, and UK.

Kentucky fans were saying the same things three and four years ago. "Woodson will be bigger than Bush" "Dewalt is better than Urrutia" and so fourth. You have no proof that UK's instate freshmen will produce more than UofL's instate freshman, especially in light of current trends.

 

Bottom line is that UK "should" be the best instate recruiter and they aren't/

Notice the tongue. I've heard of them all, just seeing which UofL fan would bite first.

 

Cantwell has been average, at best.

Positives:

 

• He does save the University money on recruiting trips by using his senior citizen discount
  
• Players aren't distracted by the possibility of College Game Day coming to Lexington. It allows them to focus on the game
  
• His impersonations of Mr. Ed and Grandpa Munster are among the best in D-1 college football
  
• Although rarely used, he does have the single wing formation and Statue of Liberty play in the playbook
  
• His ability to relate to the inner city recruits because of their common interests and his knowledge of pop culture is also second to none
  
• Much better at locating those pesky faxes from the NCAA than Tubby Smith
  
• Is the first one to tell you that another last place finish in the SEC means the first pick in the College Draft next year
  
• He allows the mid-majors to play a competitive game with UK, which in turn gives those programs renewed interest and hope for a good season. It's called spreading the wealth.
  
• Attended several coaching camps put on by UK head coach Bear Bryant and passes those ideas on to today's players
  
• Helps Commonwealth Stadium and the University conserve power usage on the home side of the scoreboard.

I personally dont think there is enough bigtime recruits each year in this state to worry about who does the best job. They both have gotten there share of them. Louisville is winning with Florida rejects according to Lee Corso. I hope the rejects from Florida keep coming to UOFL

Bottom line is that UK "should" be the best instate recruiter and they aren't/

With the situation that the programs are(were) in you can't be serious.
