Everyone wants to improve the state tournament but no one wants to change anything. Keep hanging on to old traditions and the Greatest show on Earth will continue on its path as the "Most boring show on Earth." I've been to every tournament since 1981. I go cause its the state tournament and spend time with friends now more than the games. I watch the Marquee games and semis/finals. Most other games are not any good so I leave to watch March Madness. I hate that because I have witnessed too many great games over the years.

I'd rather have a low seeed play a high seed in first round and watch any upsets.( see NCAA 15 vs 2 exact) not a blowout in the following round.

Seed it Like the NCAA to create upsets and if not better matchups from 2nd rd. on. Eliminate the 30 minutes in between games. Install a practice floor to warm up in and put 15 minutes on the clock. I would do this after round 1. The teams deserve their full time for the first rd excitement/experience. If its a bad game late, lots of fans leave including me to watch NCAAA games. Move the tournament to the YUM Center at least once every three or four years (No Rotating). Get new ideas and maybe new fans at another venue who have never gone. Maybe they will enjoy the experience and want to go to Lexington to watch the following year. Yum Center has practice facilities in it. Maybe this forces Lexington to upgrade the area. Terrible restaurant selections around RUPP. Create something for fans/students in Rupp in between sessions. There is nothing but a bad overpriced food court and expensive shops down stairs. Put some portable goals up and have shooting contest between schools. Come up with something to entertain the kids. Work with participating schools with more money. Teams lose money going to the state. The only way students are going to come is with a bus ride. May not work and the ideas are up for debate. I would just like to see changes at least tried. Society is changing and the tournament needs to change to compete for the fans. I started following KY High School Sports on Twitter. 70's crowds in Louisville were packed. Wasn't as much competition then but there is now.

Totally agree the state tournament needs to change and you have some very good ideas. Seeding would create a chance for upsets in the 1st round and better probability of good match-ups moving forward. Love your idea of having the tourney in Louisville once every three or four years. I think Louisville would do a great job of hosting and the YUM center would be a great venue for the tourney.

Form a committee or use the Litkenhous ratings. Seeding is never perfect but I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult. Seeding would also force some teams to step up their scheduling and play a few games outside of their regions.

Litkenhous and Cantrall shouldn’t be used at all. If they want to seed they need a seeding committee that consists of tried and true statewide experts on HS basketball in KY. 7 of them so there are never any ties when it comes to making a hard decision.

Folks this year are mad that Trinity and Scott County will play in round one. Make sure people lets everyone know in the 11th and 7th Region that they don’t need to play their region tournaments since Trinity and Scott County are scheduled to play in the first round of the Sweet 16.

I disagree, seeding could bring excitement by setting up games where a 16 seeds beats a 1 seed. Also, seeding eliminates 1st round games where top ranked teams play which in my opinion would be good for the tourney. The Litkenhous rating would be fine but I'm OK with a committee.

If a bunch of old AD’s that we all know dont evaluate teams can seed 64 teams in a day, a 16 team hs tournament would be easy.

I am selfish and want it to stay in Lexington. I don't have to get a hotel room and be out all that money on rooms and food.

I mentioned doing something in rupp for fans/students/kids, what about bracketville like the Final Four has? It may be called Fan Fest now. This is something the KABC could run
