If John Cole from Somerset doesn't make the all-state team they should not even have one. He's leading the state in receiving yards. Here's his stats: 8 Games, 53 Receptions, 1281 Yards, 21 Touchdowns.

One of the best in the state definitely. I heard he's getting contacts from D1 colleges everywhere. (Just a junior btw) and Macon from Danville is deserving as well even though he doesn't have outstanding stats because danville doesn't give him the ball much. He's already been offered a full ride to UK as a Sophomore.

Jeter from Henry Clay is one of the best players in the state many people have never heard of.

 

He doesn't get the hype like teammate Chase Minnifield, but he is one of the top 5 receivers in the state.

Would have to agree about Jeter. App. 6-0 180lbs. with very good speed. He should be All-State along with John Cole from Somerset. There are other good ones but thse two are very deserving.

I'd say if their name is not on this list, they're really not in the discussion. It's not that it's all about yardage, but it is hard to make a case if you don't have it.

 

And on a homer note, FWIW, Nikko Beason is an outstanding talent, and at the time of this list, was one of only two WR's on it to have more than 10 TD receptions.

 

Not all teams report stats to the KHSAA there are plenty of receivers worthy of all state honors that are not on this list.

 

Wes Caldwell of Lexington Catholic is not on this list. That is just the first name that comes to mind, I'm sure there are great receivers left off this list that warrant attention.

I think they should be ranked by number of catches, rather than yards per game.

He's also got 3 punt return touchdowns, a kickoff return touchdown and an interception return for a touchdown. Those don't count for receiver stats but he's really put up some numbers this year--he has 21 of Somerset's 28 receiving touchdowns even though he's usually double teamed.

I think they meant "is he #1"?.....is that his number. Yes his uniform number is 1. He is quite the talent, but perhaps not ranked #1!!
